MARSHAL of the UAF
The Marshal of the UAF is responsible for the command, control, and administration of the UAF.
CHIEF MARSHAL
Those who hold this rank are responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the entire UAF and report directly to the Marshal of the UAF.
AIR MARSHAL
The Air Marshal is responsible for the operational effectiveness of the UAF. They are the 1IC of the Operations Centre and provide combat strategy to the whole of the UAF. They report directly to the Air Chief Marshal.
AIR VICE MARSHAL
The Air Vice-Marshal is responsible for the development and training of Cadets. They are the 1IC of Training Squadron and provide the standards and expectations of the UAF. They report directly to the Air Chief Marshal.
AIR COMMADORE
Air Commodores are the most Senior Commissioned Officer other than those in High Command. They act as the 1IC of a group of wings and are responsible for overseeing the development of each division.
GROUP CAPTAIN
The Group Captain is the 2IC to their Air Commodore. Their duty is to ensure the smooth running of a group of Wings and to mentor and lead the Instructors within them. They need to understand the effective operation of a wing so they can provide advice on operations, alongside providing mentorship to Junior Instructors so they can effectively teach BACTs.
WING COMMANDER
A Wing Commander is responsible for the operational effectiveness and leadership of a wing. This includes planning and executing missions, as well as training and development of personnel. They need to understand the effective operation of their wing so they can provide advice on operations, alongside providing mentorship to Junior Instructors so they can effectively teach BACTs.
SQUADRON LEADER
As the name suggests, a Squadron Leader is the leader of a squadron. A squadron is a group of around four aircraft and can be either within the Jet Division or the Helicopter Division. The role of a Squadron Leader is to lead, mentor and coordinate the activities of the squadron, as well as be responsible for the safety of all personnel and equipment.
FLIGHT LIEUTENANT
A Flight Lieutenant acts as a 2IC to their Squadron Leader. Their duties consist of building rapport within the squadron and advising their Squadron Leader on squadron level activities.
FLYING OFFICER
Flying Officers hold a great deal of responsibility and are expected to lead by example. Becoming a Flying Officer shows that you have been active and participated in trainings and events.
PILOT OFFICER
This is the default rank within the UAF and is given to those who have passed their BACT.
