The Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators defines minimum standards of ethical conduct for all educators. The State Board of Education approved the standards on September 1, 2008. The DESE Rules Governing the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators further define these standards and provides a process for investigating alleged violations. Watch the above video from the Arkansas Department of Education. Review each standard below along with the accompanying guidance for each standard. Questions for discussion in each standard can be used in a classroom setting or as individual writing prompts. After all standards are reviewed, complete the assessment to receive a completion certificate (coming soon). Upon completion of the assessment, proceed to the NASDTEC Model Code of Ethics.
