Glenn McKnight is a member of ICANN NARALO community and has been a long time dedicated volunteer to promote Indigenous North Americans to be involved with the ICANN ecosystem. His previous life included a Masters in Social Anthropology from York University and he has been active in technology integration for forty years.
Louis Houle is the President of Un Québec branché sur le monde (UQBM), an organization founded in 2008 to promote Internet access in underserved Quebec communities. He holds a Bachelor degree in Communications, certificate in Journalism, studies in Computing, Public Administration (Mastery level) with 30 years experience in the Public Sector. In addition, Louis has served as President of the Internet Society Canada–Quebec Chapter, contributing to initiatives that support Internet development and accessibility.
Rookayya Gulmahamed is a member of ISOC Québec and the ICANN NARALO community since 2023, volunteering to promote Universal Acceptance. She works as an Information Management Coordinator with the provincial Government of Canada in PEI and holds a Bachelor's in Mathematics from the University of PEI and an Advanced Diploma in Applied Computing from the University of Mauritius. She also serves as an executive member of Youth IGF Canada.
Adiel A. Akplogan is the Vice President for Technical Engagement at ICANN, with over 25 years of experience in the ICT industry, including leadership roles at AFRINIC and other organizations. A pioneer of Internet technology in Africa, he played a key role in ISP development and technical capacity building. He has served on various global advisory boards, including the IGF-MAG, UNECA, NRO, and the African Union's AXIS program, contributing to Internet governance and policy discussions worldwide.
Born in Argentina and a Canadian citizen by choice, Adrian Schmidt brings a strong engineering background to his technology leadership roles. After graduating with honors in Electronic Engineering and later earning his MBA, his career has spanned from software development in Argentina's National Justice Department to network and systems administration in Canada. With years of ICANN participation and leadership as NARALO secretariat, Adrian has developed expertise in internet governance. Currently serving as the Director of Information Technology and Cybersecurity for the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist world headquarters, he focuses on building effective teams to support the organization's global mission.
Eduardo Diaz is a seasoned IT and telecommunications professional with leadership experience in key organizations. He was President of NARALO at ICANN, advocating for end-user interests, and led the Internet Society Puerto Rico Chapter (ISOC-PR). He co-founded ISOC-PR, NARALO, and NASIG. His career includes roles at PRTC, where he developed major services and built Puerto Rico’s largest ISP, and at AT&T Bell Labs, working on digital signal processing. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a non-credited master’s in Computer Science from AT&T Bell Labs.
Gabriela Salas Cabrera (born June 6, 1996 in Chapulhuacán, Hidalgo, Mexico) is an engineer and master in information technology, specialized in data science, object oriented programming and artificial intelligence. She is currently is a student of a bachelor's degree in mathematics at UNADM and a master's degree in data science at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain. She is an indigenous woman who speaks Nahuatl as her mother tongue and is also fluent in Spanish, English and Tének. A native of Chapulhuacán, Hidalgo, she has become an influential figure in the field of technology and education, standing out as a mentor and disseminator of information technologies. Her main focus is the development of projects for the common good, the use of artificial intelligence to solve social problems, and inspiring indigenous girls to pursue STEM careers, combating the underrepresentation of women in technology.
Geraldo Ferreira joined the team at ICANN in 2024 as the UA Technical Manager. He is managing initiatives with Academia on Universal Acceptance Curriculum. He is also supporting initiatives with technology organizations to foster readiness for Universal Acceptance. He is an electronic engineer with a master's degree in Computer Science. Before joining ICANN, he worked for Nokia and Apple.
Greg Shatan is the Chair of the North American Regional At-Large Organization (NARALO). Professionally, he is a partner at Moses & Singer LLP in New York, specializing in intellectual property and technology transactions, as well as cybersecurity and data privacy. Shatan has been actively involved in ICANN, serving as President of the Intellectual Property Constituency from 2015 to 2017 and participating in various working groups and drafting teams. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Columbia University Law School.
Julien Bernard is a director and consultant at Cofomo with extensive experience in R&D on Internet protocols, including developments for ICANN and IANA, and contributions to the Universal Acceptance Steering Group. He has worked on projects like the LGR Toolset and RDAP server. He earned his engineering degree from ISAE-SUPAERO and ENAC. In his role, he serves as the main point of contact for the Space Assigned Numbers Authority (SANA) operations, provided by Cofomo under the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS).
Kevin King is a Canadian typeface designer, typographer, calligrapher, and type researcher at Typotheque. He earned his Master's degree in Typeface Design with distinction from the University of Reading in 2018. Kevin collaborates with Indigenous communities across North America to support language revitalization efforts, focusing on font support and research for minority languages. His contributions include reforming the text standardization for Unified Canadian Syllabics in the Unicode Standard through character additions and representative glyph revisions.
León Sánchez was elected by the At-Large community to serve on the ICANN Board of Directors and has been re-elected for subsequent terms, and is serving until 2026. He is an intellectual property attorney based in Mexico City. He graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and completed postgraduate studies in intellectual property at UNAM and Internet Law at Harvard Law School. Since 2006, he has been a partner at Fulton & Fulton, specializing in intellectual property and IT law, and serves as Head of the Intellectual Property division.
Mark Datysgeld is the founder and director of the Governance Primer consultancy since 2017 and became ICANNWiki's Project Lead Developer in 2024. He served two terms (2020–2024) on the GNSO Council as a Business Constituency representative. He holds a BA and a Master in International Relations with a focus on Internet Governance. Mark is also specialized in health policies and the application of diverse language writing systems online. Throughout his career, he has collaborated extensively with the UASG and has organized and spoken at several global and regional IGF and adjacent events.
Born in Uruguay and raised in Argentina, Mildred Weiss is a proud Canadian who immigrated to Lacombe in 2008. With a rich background in education, she holds a post-graduate diploma in education and has over a decade of experience working with both K-12 and college students. From 2011, she served in the Education department at the Alberta Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, where she developed expertise working with First Nations students. Her educational career spans multiple institutions, including her key role in developing a Nutrition program at River Plate University and her work at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in the Philippines. Currently, she is leading training initiatives at the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist world headquarters, where she continues to apply her extensive educational expertise.
Naela Sarras is the Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement for North America at ICANN. She joined ICANN in 2005, initially working in DNS root-zone management. Over the years, she has held various roles, including Manager of the IDN Fast Track program and Director of IANA Operations from 2014 to 2020. Prior to joining ICANN, Sarras gained software development and customer service experience during her eight-year tenure at Hertzler Systems Inc. She holds a BA in Computer Systems from Goshen College.
Sebastien Ducos is responsible for GoDaddy Registry's TLD clients, a pool of over 100 ccTLD and gTLD partners, representing countries, cities, brands and open TLDs. Sebastien has also been actively participating in the ICANN community since 2012, chairing the GeoTLD.group for 4 years; as a GNSO Councillor for 4 years, including as Vice Chair and GNSO Chair; and currently serving as GNSO Liaison to the Government Advisory Committee (GAC). He has been active on topics of Registration Data, Data Privacy and Data Access, leading for the last 3 years the community effort on the Registration Data Request Service (RDRS); and is now also a member of the Latin Diacritics PDP.
