About U3A Inverell

What is U3A?

U3A stands for University of the Third Age.

Despite the name, you don't have to attend a university and there are no exams or qualifications.

U3A is a worldwide movement providing opportunities for people to learn, share interests and enjoy social connection in later life.

U3A Inverell

U3A Inverell Inc. is a local, volunteer-run organisation providing opportunities for learning, friendship, participation and enjoyment within our community.

Our activities are made possible by members who generously volunteer their time and share their knowledge and interests.

Learning without pressure

U3A is different from traditional education.

There are no exams and no pressure to achieve qualifications. The emphasis is on enjoying learning, exploring interests and sharing experiences with others.

You might discover a new interest, return to something you enjoyed years ago or simply come along because you enjoy the company.

More than learning

For many members, U3A is also about friendship and connection.

Our groups provide opportunities to meet people, have conversations, laugh together and become involved in our local community.

Run by members, for members

U3A Inverell relies on volunteers.

Our Group Leaders bring their own interests, knowledge and enthusiasm, while committee members and other volunteers help keep U3A operating.

We are grateful to everyone who contributes to making U3A Inverell the welcoming organisation it is.

U3A is powered by volunteers

Our Group Leaders and volunteers generously share their time, knowledge and enthusiasm.

If you have an interest, skill or idea you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you.

You don't have to commit to running a group to get involved. There are many ways members can contribute to the life of U3A Inverell.
