Geo Map Overview

Geospatial maps can be used to discover the origin of cyber-attacks, as well as who was attacked and the attacker. Geo maps can provide insight on future attacks and can be used to attempt to prevent or mitigate attacks.

Geo Maps

This map is very important when it comes to cyber-security. The numbers in the circles above certain countries shows how many significant cyber-attacks have hit that country from 2006-2020. This gives you an idea of the major targets in the cyber world, as well as who may be targeting you.

This map shows all cyber-attacks in detail in 2015. Not only does it show the attack targets (on the righthand side), but it also shows the confirmed attack origins (on the lefthand side). This is important because it gives shows you the countries that are most targeted, as well as the countries carrying out the most cyber-attacks. A similar take on the last map, however this one specifically identifies all of the cyber-attacks, along with what type of attack has been carried out. This can be used to gain perspective on what kind of technology and security needs to be reinforced or bettered in some form.

Intelligence Gaps

How can the United States work with their allies to help combat cyber issues?
Do any of the United States' allies have better cyber security?
Would they want to give assistance in this aspect?
If other countries were to assist the U.S., would that create a target on their back?
Could assistance be done in a discreet manner?
