I have a 6 and have tested the audio messaging with numerous friends with 5 and 5S phones with iOS7, and they say they do not even get the option to keep them - so just by them listening to an audio message I get that annoying message that they kept it. Every single time. And it gets worse - EVERY single audio message gets received TWICE. So I get that annoying message about it being saved TWICE. This is just one of the many bugs I have found in just a few days - not counting the horrendous Wi-Fi connection issue which is driving me insane and forcing me to reset my router daily. Come on Apple. Do you not have any competent beta testers?

Texas is considered a "one-party consent" state. This means that unless at least one of the parties to a conversation consents, both Texas and federal wiretapping laws make it a crime to record an audio conversation, either in person or over the phone, if the parties have a "reasonable expectation of privacy."

Below you will find links to Texas and federal laws related to audio recordings. If you find these statutes difficult to understand, please see the Understanding the Law resources below for a "plain English" explanation of these laws.

Anyway - I don't see anything in the specs about audio options in regards to 2.1 or 5.1 but I see people saying that that determines what sort of speakers and/or headphones one can use with said computer. I've only got a vague idea of what those numbers are actually indicating about the speakers, and I don't really know how the whole thing works. Could anybody elucidate the issue for me?

2.1 means 2 speakers (stereo) plus a subwoofer (which provides bass). 5.1 is 5 speakers (centre, left & right fronts, left & right rears) plus a subwoofer. 5.1 is the standard for surround sound, with 7.1 surround sound making a push recently. Chances are if you're having to ask, you've only got a stereo setup, but if you think you're gunna want a surround sound setup in the future, you'll need a motherboard or dedicated soundcard that supports 5.1 or more. As I understand it 7.1 support has because pretty much standard for mid-range motherboard these days (I'm in the middle of my own first build).

So the numbers indicate how many speakers and subwoofers there are. The first number (2, 5, or 7) tells you how many satellite speakers there are and the second one (1) tells you how many subwoofers there are. So a mobo that supports a 7.1 surround setup, will have many different outputs for all those different speakers, but a 5.1 or a 2.1 setup will only use 1 or 2 outputs.

In Why You Might Want a 24 Bit Audio A-D Converter, I went over the basics of converting analog audio (sound moving through the air) into digital audio, something a computer can understand and manipulate (ones and zeros). The metaphor there was from the movie Tron when the MCP converts Kevin Flynn from a regular person (like analog audio) into a digital person made up of ones and zeros.

For most people recording in home recording studios, 16-bit audio will probably be good enough. Your computer can also handle 16-bit audio files faster than higher bit words (24, 48 and 96 are other common bit lengths in audio).

Right now, political differences are solidifying into cultural differences more quickly and radically than I have witnessed in my lifetime. The political parties we root for dictate the way we live our daily lives. Political opposition to President Donald Trump nudged some families to continue sequestering themselves almost completely. Their risk calculations seem influenced, if not determined, by politics. Sure, the pandemic poses threats for the unvaccinated, but does it mean that your vaccinated children should still be held apart?

Some common synonyms of sound are cogent, convincing, telling, and valid. While all these words mean "having such force as to compel serious attention and usually acceptance," sound implies a basis of flawless reasoning or of solid grounds.

A Spanish idiom is an expression natural to only native speakers. Idioms have a non-literal meaning attached to them. However, native speakers easily understand them due to their intuitive use and familiarity.

CNN on Monday obtained audio of Trump not only claiming he had classified documents in his possession after leaving the White House but also admitting that they had not been declassified before he left office.

This pioneering sound-identification technology is integrated into the existing Merlin Bird ID app, meaning Merlin now offers four ways to identify a bird: by a sound, by a photo, by answering five questions about a bird you saw, or by exploring a list of the birds expected where you are.

English contains several sound homographs, all with distinct histories. For example, the sound that means "something heard" descends from Latin sonus ("sound"), whereas the sound that means "to measure the depth of water" traces to Middle French sonde ("sounding line"). Another sound, as in "of sound mind and body," is the contemporary form of Old English's gesund. Gesund is related to several words in other languages, such as Old Saxon gisund ("sound"), Old Frisian sund ("fresh, unharmed, healthy"), and Gothic swinths ("sound" or "healthy"). Another relative is Old High German's gisunt ("healthy"), which led to modern German's gesund, the root of gesundheit.

Apple has developed its own lossless audio compression technology called Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC). In addition to AAC, the entire Apple Music catalog is now also encoded using ALAC in resolutions ranging from 16-bit/44.1 kHz (CD Quality) up to 24-bit/192 kHz.

The Lightning to 3.5 mm Audio Cable was designed to allow AirPods Max to connect to analog sources for listening to movies and music. AirPods Max can be connected to devices playing Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless recordings with exceptional audio quality. However, given the analog-to-digital conversion in the cable, the playback will not be completely lossless.

The "Fast Fourier Transform" (FFT) is an important measurement method in the science of audio and acoustics measurement. It converts a signal into individual spectral components and thereby provides frequency information about the signal. FFTs are used for fault analysis, quality control, and condition monitoring of machines or systems. This article explains how an FFT works, the relevant parameters and their effects on the measurement result.

Strictly speaking, the FFT is an optimized algorithm for the implementation of the "Discrete Fourier Transformation" (DFT). A signal is sampled over a period of time and divided into its frequency components. These components are single sinusoidal oscillations at distinct frequencies each with their own amplitude and phase. This transformation is illustrated in the following diagram. Over the time period measured, the signal contains 3 distinct dominant frequencies.

The portable audio and acoustic analyzer XL2 is ideally suited for fast and simple FFT analysis up to 20 kHz. For multi-channel and more detailed analysis or calculations, a more powerful system with large bandwidth and fast signal processors such as the FLEXUS FX100 Audio Analyzer is required. In conjunction with the FX-Control PC software, the FFT can be easily and quickly adapted and visualized according to the requirements of the measurement. The larger internal memory of the FLEXUS FX100 allows significantly longer blocklengths to be processed, resulting in a much finer frequency resolution.

As explained in the first part, the sampling rate fs of the measuring system and the block length BL are the two central parameters of an FFT. The sampling rate indicates how often the analog signal to be analyzed is scanned. When recording wav files via a commercially-available PC sound card, for example, the audio signal is usually sampled 44,100 times per second.

You'll learn a lot when you can interpret your cat's wide vocabulary of chirps and meows. They'll tell you when they're hungry, when they're feeling affectionate and if they're feeling threatened or in pain.

Does your cat arch their back up to meet your hand when you pet them? This means they're enjoying this contact with you. Do they shrink away under your slightest touch? Save the petting for later; they're not interested right now.

When your cat rubs their chin and body against you, they're telling you they love you, right? Well, sort of. What they're really doing is marking their territory. You'll notice that they also rub the chair, the door, their toys and everything in sight. They're telling everyone that this is their stuff, including you.

There are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use today. Some have been created by Microsoft, but the vast majority of codecs were created by other companies, organizations, and individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the Player include a number of the most popular codecs, such as Windows Media Audio, Windows Media Video, and MP3. e24fc04721
