About me

I grew up in a suburb outside of Boston, Massachusetts. My passion for economics began in high school when I took a couple of classes from a fantastic young teacher named Mr. James Page. His enthusiasm for viewing the world as an economist was infectious and encouraged me to pursue advanced studies.

I delayed my graduate school plans after meeting an Australian woman during a semester abroad in London. I moved to Melbourne, Australia to live with her for several years before we married and returned to the states for my Ph.D. We now have two children who are proud to call both America and Australia their home.

I spend most of my free time with my kids, but I also enjoy soccer, astronomy, and game design: you can find several of my games here.
