Carefully following wallpaper installation instructions is key to a flawless finish. It helps avoid mistakes or damage, ensures the wallpaper looks professional, and keeps your walls looking vibrant for years. 

Your wall needs to be painted and DRY for a successful install. Newly painted walls should dry completely for at least 4–6 weeks before installation.  For new walls, there’s no need to paint; a coat of primer is all you need. Peel & Stick wallpaper won’t adhere to washable paint, so if your walls have it, apply a bonding liquid first. Make sure the surface is in good condition: no cracked paint, humidity spots, stains, or dust. Wipe the walls down with a cloth and lukewarm soapy water before installation.  Get into those corners, and don’t cut corners on your cleaning! Walls should be smooth and free of any texture or decorative finishes.  Don’t apply new wallpaper over old wallpaper. It will either peel off or bond too strongly, making removal difficult. The results are often unpredictable.

Removal Instructions:

Peel & Stick Wallpaper

Taking down Eco Peel & Stick wallpaper is usually simple, though it might need a little patience.
Start from one corner and gently pull downward. If it feels like the wallpaper’s holding on too tightly, use a hairdryer on low heat to soften the adhesive; that will make it release more easily.

The condition of the paint underneath will determine how much cleanup is needed. Sometimes the wall will be perfectly fine; other times, you may need a light repaint or a quick wipe with hot, soapy water to remove any sticky residue.

Traditional Wallpaper

Use a scoring tool to lightly puncture the wallpaper, creating small holes for moisture to seep through.
Spray the surface with water, letting it soak in for about 10 minutes to loosen the adhesive.
Once softened, gently scrape off the wallpaper with a putty knife, taking care not to damage the wall underneath.

MEASUREMENTS

Getting your measurements right is the first step to a flawless wallpaper installation. Accurate dimensions mean less waste, seamless pattern alignment, and a polished, professional finish that transforms your space beautifully.

STANDARD WALLPAPER

Measure from ceiling to floor, and across each wall, note your measurements carefully using a metal tape measure for accuracy. Jot them down room by room.
 

CUSTOM WALL MURALS

Measure the full width and height of your wall. We print exactly to size, so add 5 cm to both width and height for trimming and precision during installation.

STANDARD WALLS

Measure the complete width and height of your wall, double-check your numbers, and add 5 cm to both sides for that perfect edge-to-edge fit.

SLOPED WALLS

Measure from the highest and widest points of the wall and don’t worry about the slope. We’ll print your mural as a full rectangle, and your installer will trim away the angled section. Add 5 cm to both width and height.

MULTI-SLOPED WALLS

Capture the widest and tallest parts of the wall. Your mural will arrive as a rectangle, ready for trimming. Add 5 cm to both measurements for a clean, easy fit.

WALLS WITH DOORS, WINDOWS, OR OBSTACLES

Measure the full wall, including doors and windows. Those areas are cut out during installation. Add 5 cm to width and height for trimming accuracy.

MULTIPLE WALLS

Working across more than one wall? Measure each wall’s width and combine the totals. Add 5 cm per wall as a safety margin, and always use the tallest height. You don’t need to order separate panels.

STAIRCASES

Measure high to low. For staircases, note the highest and lowest points for height, and the full length for width. Add 5 cm to each side. The angled sections are trimmed during installation for a perfect finish.

PEEL & STICK WALLPAPER  (Smooth & Textured)

Self-adhesive wallpaper works like a giant sticker. Peel and Stick it to a clean, smooth wall. It’s more durable than pre-pasted wallpaper, scuff-resistant, and can often be removed cleanly, making it ideal for rentals or frequent redecorating. The Eco peel-and-stick has a bright white, smooth matte finish that refreshes any space. It’s suitable for low-humidity areas like bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, and kids’ rooms due to its wipeable surface. Ensure proper wall prep and, if needed, hire an installer experienced with peel-and-stick wallpaper. 

TRADITIONAL WALLPAPER  (Smooth &  Textured)

Traditional wallpaper comes without pre-pasted adhesive, so you’ll need to mix your own and brush it onto the wall or wallpaper. It’s designed to last for years to come, and the modern non-woven backings make removal slightly easier if needed. Decorators love its durability and timeless finish, perfect for creating a polished look. Unlike peel-and-stick, any wallpaper installer can work with traditional wallpaper, but check their preference first.
