Beginning on the first of march 2025 i was offered a position at an Eco friendly, zero waste shop, to be their media manager. Handling things like the social media and any digital or physical grapics and images they may need. This included things such as making 2-3 posts a week, photographing stock and the establishment in a way that looked appealing, making infographics about stock and upcoming changes customers may want to be aware of. The first post to go up in my time as media manager was the post that can be seen to the right, taken, edited, and written by myself. I worked there from the afformentioned date up until septermber 14th 2025, only leaving the job to move to university.
However circa late 2026, aproxamatley a year after my work there, a new social media manager has taken it in a new direction and has subsiquently removed majority of these works. A shame, but nothing personal.
To assist those who may follow me in this job role i created a set of design language documents that i used for each post and graphic i made. It was written in a way where someone who may have less technical knowledge than me could be taught how to follow it. I frequently used the design language documents and they act as my template for each aspect i create for the job. These can be seen below.
To the left the first poster i created for the Refillery can be seen, this was one made to promote the new stock of seasonal seeds for the spring. It is important to note that the Refillery logo was one i already had assess to and did not create myself.
While a smaller task by comparison, i set a Linktree up for the shop. One that would take people to the Instagram, Facebook, and application form, without needing to source them one at a time. It made use of the same colour scheme and design elements mentioned above, but within the confines of Linktree's software. As of writing this the linktree still makes use of my original colour scheme, but on the possibility that changes a photo can be seen to the left.
The linktree can be found and assessed here.
A few highlights from the social medias i ran for the account. Most posts largely involved promoting products and services.
A sample of what the item promotion posts looked like, with this example being the second one posted.
A sample of the sort of brand promotion the social medias needed, making use of the design language mentioned above.
This post was both a personal experement with mixed media and for the shop itself. The photos were taken using a small paper cutout for lighting and shadow reference and then drawn over with a character in photoshop. With this post being more of an experemental choice i synced the post both between my own buisness account and the refilery's one.
The main goal of this post was to spread knowlage on the brand partnership the shop had with the oat milk company overheard. With the design language being altered to match more with the Overherd's in house style of graphic design, whilst still retaining the look of Tavistock Refillerys. The images themeselves were created in photoshop and contained brand information sourced directly from the overheard website.
Below the full images can be seen.
Part of the role involved sourcing and stylising recipes for customers to use, for both in store and online veiwing. With three examples below of what i consider to be the best looking
Additionally to the other work i also made a few videos for the shop, a few were recorded in store of patrons playing the piano or other such things. However i did not have a local copy of these and they were removed in the rebrand. The only one i have remaining is a museli recipie instagram reel. This was filmed on a small product shooting setup, with a fixed camera and edited within premire pro. The music used is royaltee free music from the vedio game "pikuniku"
