On April 29, 2022 the Board of Directors of Two Rivers Montessori submitted an application to open the only public Montessori charter school in Western North Carolina. This is the first step. Over the next 490 days the Board will work with families, volunteers, and the community to build a school. On September 12, the TRPM board of directors met with the North Carolina Charter School Advisory Board, and Two Rivers Public Montessori has been unanimously approved to move forward in the application process!
The final step in the process is for the State Board of Education to review our application. Their vote is expected later this winter. If approved, the doors will open in August, 2023 and the next generation of Asheville Montessorians will enter.
