it's a local meeting of Democrats in your neighborhood
Caucuses and assemblies are how Democrats nominate their favorite candidates to the primary ballot.
This is also where precinct organizers are elected, identify election judges identified and candidates are moved forward. The Caucus is foundation for deciding how the Democratic party shows up on the ballot.
This process gives everyday Democrats a direct voice in the future of the party.
Promotes you from a "voter" to a "decision-maker."
Caucuses are the "filter" that decides who actually makes it onto that ballot. In many states, caucus-goers select delegates who then vote on which candidates receive the party’s official endorsement.
By attending, you have a hand in vetting candidates early, ensuring that the person who eventually runs represents your specific values.
Caucuses are open to registered Democrats who live in the precinct.
You do not need experience to attend. Many people come to listen, learn, and understand how the process works.
Pre-registered 16- and 17-year-olds may also participate.
Check out our resources below to find where and when yours is happening.
Caucuses are rare opportunities to meet the people in your neighborhood who share your values and choose your reps.
At a caucus, Democrats come together to:
Meet others in their community
Elect precinct organizers and local party leaders
Elect delegates to represent the precinct at the county assembly
Begin shaping the priorities and direction of the Democratic Party
Caucus are organized by County. Within the county, there may be further organization by House District or by Precincts. Some counties host their Caucus in person, some are remote. Check out the steps and links below to help guide your plan to join.
As more information is published from the Counties, we'll update this page as well.

If you need help to identify your County, go to Colorado Voter Registration here.
After you fill out the page, look for the 'County & District Information' tab.
Step 2 - Ensure you are Registered as a Democrat
Because this effort is to determine who will be a Democrat on the November ballots, you must be registered as a Democrat to participate.
Go to Colorado Voter Registration here, fill out the form, go to the 'Voter Details' tab. Here you can verify and edit if needed.
Step 3 - Get Details from County
Adams County Caucus information (in person & virtual)

Step 4 - Go to Caucus & become a PO (Precinct Organizer) and Assembly Delegate
At Caucus, your neighborhood will vote on who becomes their PO and who will represent their neighborhood at Assembly.
If you are an Assembly Delegate, you will decide which candidates move toward the primary ballot!!
Why is Caucus so important?
Check out this article from Thom Hartmann which explores what comes next and why going to your Democrats Caucus is a legit option.
I am registered as a Democrat and am committed to attend my Caucus. Where I can learn more about the different candidates so I can make an informed decision at Caucus?
Here are some different collections, articles and interviews to help you learn more about the candidates. More will be added so check back often.
Many of the candidates have webpages which outline their values and histories. Adams County has put together a collection of the different US Congressional Candidates (District 8, 4, 6 and 7) and US Senate Candidates, the many Colorado House Districts, Colorado Senate Districts, Colorado State Wide and also the County & Education level candidates.
Interviews or Discussions:
Interview of Congressional District 8 candidates (Bird, Evans, Munsing and Rutinel) on the big issues facing Coloradans 50+
Indivisible CO recently held an online Senate Forum featuring all of the candidates who accepted the invite. To help you decide how to vote, consider watching the recording of this Forum. Also, candidates were asked to answer the question “Why should Indivisible CO endorse you to be our next US Senator”. Written responses to this question are posted on indivisiblecolorado.net
