Twist of Timber is a woodturning studio focused on clean silhouettes and lasting craftsmanship. The work lives at the intersection of function and sculpture—pedestals, tables, and vases that bring warmth and structure to modern interiors.
Each piece begins as solid hardwood and is shaped on the lathe—a controlled, rotational process that allows form to emerge gradually and precisely.
As the wood spins, material is removed in measured passes, refining proportion, balance, and line. This stage defines the silhouette and establishes the strength of the piece. Small adjustments here make the difference between something that simply stands and something that holds presence.
Once the final shape is achieved, the surface is progressively refined through sanding to create a smooth, tactile finish. The piece is then finished by hand to protect the wood, deepen the grain, and ensure durability for everyday use.
The result is a functional object shaped with intention—turned, finished, and inspected one piece at a time.
