These shots are crafted using fresh elderberry, as well as elderberry tincture that has been crafted in a 1:2 Ratio over a period of 90 days. This process ensures potency, shelf stability as well as uniform taste and texture. Medicinal Herbs infused in the blend are Echinacea and Astragalus.

Tinctures
All of the tinctures on our homestead are crafted with 190 proof organic, full-grain alcohol. Our tinctures are crafted using an exact ratio of fresh herbs to alcohol (1:2) to ensure a consistent product. We do not use heat to speed the tincturing process (we do it the slow, old-fashioned way to preserve medicinal compounds that are killed by the application of heat). The fresh herbs are steeped in alcohol and shaken daily over a period of 60-90 days. The herbs are then strained from the liquid, which is then bottled for use. Each bottled tincture is 1oz (30ml) by volume and is packaged in a tinted glass bottle with glass dropper to prevent UV damage and reduce contaminants from plastics and synthetics. All the tinctures we craft and sell are made using herbs grown organically here on our homestead. The following is a list of tinctures we craft (there are many more, I am working to add them as soon as possible)
***Herbal Tincture Details (Listed in A-Z)***
Arnica - Arnica Chamissonis
This herb is commonly used as a topical analgesic. It is for external use only and provides relief for sore, aching muscles, stiff joints, arthritis, sprains and more. We utilize this tincture in the creation of our Muscle Melt Rub in combination with other herbs to relieve inflammation and pain in hands, feet, knees, backs, and shoulders.
Astragalus - Astragalus membranaceus
This herb is most commonly known for its immune boosting properties. We use it here on our homestead as a daily preventative during cold and flu season as well as a treatment to speed recovery from illnesses involving the respiratory system. It is also used as an immune booster and treatment for livestock. Historically, it's been used for the treatment of diabetes, high blood pressure, circulation issues and liver ailments as well.
Bee Balm - Monarda didyma
Bee Balm Tincture is another great addition to your herbal apothecary. It is most notably used as a multi-purpose antiseptic - mixed in cough syrups for sore thoats and congestion, as well as in salves to prevent infection to minor wounds and broken skin. Bee Balm also has properties similar to Lemon Balm with regard to its relief of digestive issues such as gas, bloating, and nausea.
Comfrey - Symphytum officinale
Comfrey is a staple in any herbal apothecary. It has been used for the treatment of many ailments through the centuries. On our homestead it is the topical go-to for bruises, fractures, sprains and strains. Comfrey is also well known as "bone-knit" for its ability to help speed up the healing process of broken bones and tissue. Do not use comfrey on broken skin/open wounds. It is for topical use only.
Elderberry - Sambucus nigra
Elderberry is great to have in any herbal apothecary. It is most widely known for its anti-viral and immune supporting properties. Historically is has been used as an incredible cold and flu remedy. Elderberry is used on our homestead in many forms including tinctures, teas, syrups, jellies, soaks, and gummies. Be sure to check out our Elderberry Herbal Shots for a tasty, immune system support option!!
Feverfew- Tanacetum parthenium
This is another staple in our homestead herbal apothecary. It is essential to managing low grade fevers as well as treating and preventing headaches and migraines.
Lemon Balm - Melissa officinalis
Lemon Balm is another cornerstone in our homestead herbal apothecary. This is our go-to for indigestion, upset stomach, and stress headaches. This herb gives infusions and teas that may be less than palatable a much better taste and smell (for this reason it is also added to other medicinal blends).
Mullein - Verbascum thapsus
This tincture is a staple here on our homestead during allergy and cold & flu season. The decongestant properties and respiratory healing given by this combination of herbal botanicals helps reduce the symptoms and duration of most common ailments that effect breathing. Historically, Mullein has long been used to treat pulmonary issues including asthma, spasmodic coughs, respiratory inflammation, bronchial illness and more
Plantain - Plantago major
Plantain is a staple in any herbal apothecary. It has been used for centuries for the treatment of many ailments both externally and internally. On our farm it is the go-to for bites, scrapes, stings, poison ivy, sunburns and other common skin irritations. Plantain is known for its poison mitigation, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. It is often used as an expectorant and decongestant during cold and flu season as well!
Purslane - Portulaca oleracea
Purslane is great to have in any herbal apothecary. It is known for its high concentrations of Omega-3s, vitamins and minerals as well as some incredible anti-inflammatory properties. Purslane has the highest concentrations of Omeg-3 acids of any land based plant. On our homestead it is added to many salves for skin, often combined with calendula. It is also periodically given to our livestock for its health benefits.
Red Clover - Trifolium pratense
This tincture has such a wide variety of uses I couldn't list them all here. On our homestead this is used as a body cleanser (especially the liver), hormone regulator, fertility booster, as well as an addition to salves for eczema, psoriasis, skin ailments, wound healing and general health.
Turmeric - Curcuma longa
This plant is used daily in our household to encourage a healthy gut. When our family made the decision to embrace more natural living by truly utilizing home grown remedies we discovered just how much of a difference it makes! This herb is great to have for daily use to help with digestive issues including inflammation, gas, and reflux. It is also used in certain salves for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis - often combined with calendula and purslane. I encourage everyone to learn as much as they can about these natural remedies.
Valerian - Valeriana officinalis
Valerian has been used medicinally since the times of ancient Greece and Rome. Its most common uses are treating anxiety and insomnia. Valerian's sedative effects also make it effective in relieving headaches (especially stress headaches), migraines, arthritis and muscle pain. I personally use it for relief of migraines and persistent insomnia, and it has been a life saver for me in this regard. This product will likely cause drowsiness, please use responsibly!
