Day 1
16:00
[Prof. Greg Tsagkatakis]
This will be a fast-paced, structured activity designed to help participants get to know each other quickly. Participants will form small groups (3-4 people) for a short conversation (4–5 minutes) before rotating to the next group. Guiding prompts are provided (e.g., "What's your research focus?" or "What motivated you to join this school?”) to spark interaction. By the end of the session, everyone will have met each other, laying the groundwork for collaboration and a more connected summer school experience.
Day 2
16:00
[Dr. Maria Makridaki]
This interactive session introduces participants to the essentials of crafting a clear and engaging pitch. Through examples, they will learn how to structure key messages, highlight impact, and adapt their research story to a non-specialist audience. The session will conclude with a random grouping (3–4 per team) of the participants, in order to design a two-slide pitch (5-minutes long) for a fictional company. These mini-pitches will be presented at the final pitch contest on the last day of the school.
Day 4
15:00
In this lively finale, groups will take the stage to deliver their pitches prepared during the previous days. Each team will have 5 minutes and a maximum of 2 slides to present their vision. A jury, together with the audience, will evaluate the pitches based on clarity, creativity, and delivery. The winning group will receive a commemorative award, celebrating both teamwork and the art of communicating ideas effectively.
