A financial coach helps you create goals and stick with them so you’re not just dreaming about financial peace—you’re living it. Financial coaching is different from any other finance-related field. Certified Public Accountants help you with your taxes. Financial Advisors manage the wealth you already have. Financial Coaches, like us, help you build wealth and work with you to create a personalized start-to-finish plan for your money. We also help keep you motivated and on track, keeping you out of the pitfalls of managing money and building wealth.
Financial coaches often work with their clients over several sessions/months—focusing on many things from fine-tuning your budget to discovering your long-term goals and even working through a real financial crisis, just to name a few. No matter the situation, financial coaches sit with you one-on-one in person or in online sessions to help you overcome the challenges that are holding you back in your finances and in building wealth.
When should I work with a financial coach?
That’s the great thing about a financial coach—I can help you in any situation! Maybe you’re up to your eyeballs in student loans or credit card debt, or you’re having money fights with your spouse. Or perhaps you have big money goals—like saving to buy a house or setting yourself up for retirement—but have no plan to achieve them. Regardless, I can meet you where you’re at and steer you in the right direction so that you can win with your money.
How much does a financial coach cost?
I am an independent coach. For your first session, I offer a free 1-hour consultation. This is a ministry, and there is no charge for my services. If, after your consultation, you decide to take advantage of my services, we will decide on and set up regularly scheduled coaching sessions.
Do I work for Dave Ramsey?
No, I am an independent business owner. However, I am a professional certified financial coach who has been trained extensively by Ramsey Solutions. I do base my financial advice on Ramsey's principles and sound financial advice; there are no get-rich-quick schemes here.
How do I get my spouse on board?
Marriage is not “me”—it’s “we.” Working on your finances together is the only way to succeed when it comes to money. Not only that, but many couples find that talking about money with a coach reduces stress in their marriage. It’s so important that I’ve made it one of my core teachings. If you’re having difficulty getting your spouse on board, let me know, and we will work through it.
How do I prepare for my coaching session?
The great part about working with a financial coach is that I will guide you through every step of the process. During your first consultation, I will ask questions to get to know you—your goals, your dreams, your past, your pain points, your financial situation, etc. So be sure to have your answers & info. ready. By the way, you should never be ashamed of your financial struggles when working with a coach. There will be no shaming or embarrassment, just good advice, hope, and motivation.
