Twik – AI Writing Companion
Introduction
Twik ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application and keyboard extension (collectively, the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
1. Personal Information You Provide
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
• Email address (via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In)
• Name (via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In)
• Profile photo URL (via Google Sign-In, if provided)
• Unique user identifiers (Firebase UID, RevenueCat customer ID)
Authentication Data
• Firebase Authentication tokens for secure session management
• OAuth tokens from Google or Apple for authentication purposes
2. Usage Information
Keyboard Extension Data
When you use the Twik keyboard extension:
• Text input submitted for AI processing (grammar correction, rewriting, tone adjustment)
• Selected writing modes (e.g., Fix Grammar, Professional, Friendly, Gen Z, Sarcastic)
• API request metadata (timestamps, request counts)
Important: We only process text that you explicitly submit for AI suggestions. We do not collect or store any other text typed using the keyboard. Text is sent to our secure Supabase backend for processing and is not permanently stored beyond caching for performance optimization.
Subscription Information
• Subscription status (free, active, canceled, expired)
• Product IDs of purchased subscriptions
• Purchase dates and expiration dates
• Transaction records (managed by RevenueCat and Apple)
Usage Tracking
• Daily API request counts to enforce usage limits
• Feature usage statistics (which writing modes are most popular)
3. Automatically Collected Information
Device Information
• Device type and model (iPhone, iPad)
• Operating system version (iOS version)
• App version
• Unique device identifiers (for authentication and analytics)
Technical Data
• Network information (IP address for API requests)
• Error logs and crash reports (for debugging and improving the App)
4. Information We Do NOT Collect
We explicitly do NOT collect:
• Passwords (authentication is handled by Firebase, Google, and Apple)
• Credit card information (all payments are processed by Apple through the App Store)
• Text typed on your keyboard unless explicitly submitted for AI processing
• Browsing history or location data
• Contacts, photos, or other device data
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Authenticate users and manage user accounts
• Process text for AI-powered suggestions (grammar, rewriting, tone adjustment)
• Sync user data across devices
• Deliver subscription features and enforce usage limits

Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., court orders, subpoenas).
Business Transfers
If Twik is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
No Third-Party Advertising
We do NOT share your information with third-party advertisers or marketing companies.
Data Retention
• Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Usage Data: Retained for up to 1 year for analytics and optimization.
• Text Submissions: Processed in real-time and may be cached for up to 24 hours for performance. Not permanently stored.
• Subscription Data: Retained as required by Apple and RevenueCat for transaction records (typically 7 years for tax purposes).
Your Rights and Choices
Access and Update Information
You can view and update your account information within the App settings.
Delete Your Account
You have the right to delete your account at any time. To delete your account:
1. Open the Twik app
2. Navigate to Settings
3. Tap "Delete Account"
What gets deleted:
• All user data from our Supabase database (user profile, usage statistics)
• Your Firebase authentication account
• RevenueCat customer records
• Cached AI processing data
What is NOT deleted:
• Transaction records maintained by Apple (as required by law)
• Anonymized analytics data
Note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Active subscriptions will be canceled but refunds must be requested through Apple.
Keyboard Access
You can enable or disable "Full Access" for the Twik keyboard in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Twik. Without Full Access, the keyboard cannot connect to our servers for AI processing.
Subscription Management
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the App Store:
1. Open Settings on your iOS device
2. Tap your name → Subscriptions
3. Select Twik and manage your subscription
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
• Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Secure Authentication: Firebase Authentication with OAuth 2.0 for Google and Apple Sign-In
• Token Security: Authentication tokens are securely stored in iOS Keychain and App Group shared storage
• Access Controls: Database access is restricted using row-level security policies
• No Plaintext Storage: Sensitive data is never stored in plaintext
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete such information.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to our servers and our third-party service providers.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA):
• We rely on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission for data transfers
• Our third-party providers (Firebase, Supabase, RevenueCat) are compliant with GDPR
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification for material changes
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Apple App Store Compliance
This Privacy Policy complies with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines. Specifically:
Data Collection and Storage
• We clearly disclose what data we collect and how it's used
• We only collect data necessary for App functionality
• User data is never sold to third parties
Sign in with Apple
• We offer Sign in with Apple as an authentication option where other social login services are used
Subscriptions
• All subscription purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system

Keyboard Extensions
• We request "Full Access" only to enable AI features
• We clearly explain why Full Access is required
• Text is only processed when explicitly submitted by the user
• No data is collected beyond what is necessary for AI processing

• No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers
