大窩口邨街坊福利會（Tai Wo Hau Estate Kai Fong Welfare Association）

Located in DD443, ASBURY VILLAGE, TAI WO HAU TSUEN, TAI WO HAU, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong ; is a traditional mutual aid organizations which emerged in Hong Kong after the Second World War. Tai Wo Hau Estate Kai Fong Welfare Association (twhwa.org) was set up with the help of Secretariat for Chinese Affairs, particularly the Society Welfare Council, of the British colonial government, which had the intention of developing non-governmental civil society for the purpose of promoting moderate politics among the general public. The term "kai fong" (街坊) refers to people living in the same neighbourhood, and Tai Wo Hau Estate Kai Fong Welfare Association (twhwa.org) mainly aimed at serving the residents of specific neighbourhoods.

The main purpose of Tai Wo Hau Estate Kai Fong Welfare Association (twhwa.org) was to provide low cost or free services in areas such as education and health care for the many refugees from China. By 1958, there were twenty-one; by 1958, twenty-eight. After 1958, the government tried to use the "kai fong" associations to communicate with the local population. In 1960, "kai fong" associations extended their services to areas such as legal support or environmental protection.

大窩口邨街坊福利會（Tai Wo Hau Estate Kai Fong Welfare Association）

位於 香港特別行政區葵青區大窩口道亞斯理村DD443地段 ... 是香港一種傳統的互助組織，自1949年開始在香港出現，由當時的民政處協助下建立，初期街坊福利會為街坊及當區居民提供贈醫贈藥、施棺派米、贈衣義學及免費留產等有關濟貧之福利工作，現在街坊福利會則主要舉行各式文娛活動，提供場地及服務於區內老幼及青少年，及協助政府推行各項公益措施。

大窩口邨歷史 （英文：Tai Wo Hau Estate）是香港的公共屋邨，位於新界葵青區中葵涌大窩口，於1961年入伙，是新界第一個徙置區，也是在所有葵青區的公共屋邨之中，是最接近荃灣區的屋邨，於1970年代開始重建，新建樓宇於分別於1979年至1993年入伙，現由香港房屋委員會負責管理屋邨。

第二次世界大戰後，大量中國大陸難民移港定居，由於當時香港政府沒有一個房屋政策來為低下階層而設的，所以很多難民在1949年至1953年間在山邊興建木屋來居住，但這些木屋設備簡陋，衛生環境惡劣，加上木屋的密度高，所以經常發生火警，最終於1953年的聖誕夜，石硤尾木屋區發生了史無前例的大火，令5萬多人無家可歸，於是政府在大窩口一帶興建徙置大廈，用以安置災民。

除了大窩口外，還在大坑東、石硤尾和李鄭屋興建徙置大廈，除了石硤尾美荷樓及石蘺中轉房屋外，所有徙置大廈已拆卸進行重建。

大窩口邨現況

直至1970年代末，大窩口邨開始進行重建工程，與石硤尾邨和大坑東邨不同的是，香港房屋委員會把大窩口邨所有徙置大廈拆卸重建，新樓宇於1979年至1993年入伙，而其中的富秀樓及富平樓採用了相連長型樓宇類型中較少使用的「L」款的樓宇，相連長型L款樓宇全港公共屋邨中只有四座，另外2座是橫頭磡邨的宏光樓及宏顯樓。

大窩口邨附近設有商場，加上設有行人天橋往大窩口站，同有（逾30條）巴士路線途經葵涌青山公路（兩旁）及紅、綠小巴等往返港九新界各區，交通極為方便。由於大窩口位處山谷位置，經葵涌邨可到達葵興、葵盛東邨及葵芳、荃灣市中心及石圍角邨、城門谷一帶亦可步行前往。
