Class overview

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! 

This year brings us so many opportunities to grow and learn. We are all being challenged to have high expectations for ourselves. 

Instruction will be reading and writing intensive. Reading is the foundation of every subject, so in order to be successful in school students need to be comfortable with reading and understanding what they read. 

Writing improves communication skills, it helps students review and remember recently learned material, it helps educators to evaluate student learning, it encourages creativity and exploration, and is essential for self-understanding, just to name a few. 

In addition, we are continuing to utilize curriculum  that has adaptive diagnostics for mathematics that pinpoints student needs down to the sub-skill level, with an ongoing growth monitoring option that shows whether students are on track to achieve end-of-year targets.
