By the Kuroshio: Bridging Horizons, Deepening Taiwan-Japan Collaboration
本活動旨在建立台灣地科青年學者的定期交流平台，促進跨領域聯繫與互助合作網絡 。交流會將提供最新研究成果的發表機會，激發學術討論，並邀請各界專家分享產業趨勢與職涯建議 。鑑於臺日兩地在地質、氣候、洋流等條件下有高度相似與關聯性，於地球科學各領域上已有深厚的研究合作基礎，本次特別邀請日方研究人員參與交流，期望進一步拓展雙邊合作契機 。同時，會議將針對未來計畫赴日留學或工作的青年學者，提供相關管道資訊、實務經驗與文化差異分享，以降低雙方交流成本。
This symposium serves as a recurring exchange platform for early-career geoscientists in Taiwan, fostering interdisciplinary connections and a robust network for mutual collaboration. The meeting provides a venue for presenting the latest research advances, stimulating academic discourse, and inviting experts to share insights on industry trends and career development.
Given the geological, climatic, and oceanographic similarities between Taiwan and Japan, a profound foundation for research cooperation already exists across all fields of geoscience. This event specifically invites researchers from Japan to join, aiming to expand opportunities for bilateral collaboration. Furthermore, for early-career scientists planning to study or work in Japan, the symposium will provide essential information on application channels, practical experiences, and cultural nuances, effectively encouraging exchanges.

本次邀請到日本高知大學海洋岩心研究所所長及3位年輕教授來談交流分享，內容將結合研究發表、職涯發展與雙方文化分享等關鍵環節。

This time, the Director of the Marine Core Research Institute, Kochi University, and three young professors are invited to share their experiences, to analyze the academic exchange, career insights and culture differences between the two countries.
活動對象：台灣地球科學青年研究人員、工作者、博士生，人數約50人。
Target Audience: Early-Career geoscientists, professionals, and Ph.D. students in Taiwan (approx. 50 participants).
註：我們誠摯邀請來自臺灣各大專院校、領域與學術階段的朋友報名參與本活動。然因活動經費與場地大小的限制，活動將採邀請制，並以地質學會會員優先。錄取與否會進行綜合性的考量，希冀能以最多元與包含的方式完成名單篩選。錄取通知將於活動前透過電子郵件寄出，並回覆參加活動與否，敬請留意信箱。如未收到錄取通知，則代表本次未能錄取，敬請見諒。
We cordially invite friends from various universities, research fields, and academic stages across Taiwan to register for this event. However, due to the venue constraints, participation is by selection, with priority given to members of the Geological Society (中華民國地質學會). Admission will be determined through a comprehensive review process, aiming for a selection that is as diverse and inclusive as possible.
Accepted applicants will be notified via email two weeks before the event. Please keep an eye on your inbox and confirm your attendance upon receiving the notification. If you do not receive an acceptance email, it means your application was not successful this time. Thank you for your understanding.
