Juneteenth 2021

June 19th is a very special holiday in the black community celebrating the day African-Americans were emancipated and free of slavery. The Emancipation Park in Houston will be hosting a community meal on June 19th at 11 am. The Emancipation Park Conservancy has partnered with Lucille's 1913, H-E-B, Coca-cola, and the Houston Food Bank in order to provide barbecue, sodas, and fruits for the community. Free Covid-19 Vaccine Opportunity

From noon to 4 pm, the Pfizer and/or Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be administered by nurses free of charge at The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park, 6464 Creekside Forest Dr, as well as the Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Dr. Those age 12 and older, are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine while those age 18 and older are eligible for the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine.
