Kaupapa
• Uphold the participation of Māori, Indigenous Peoples, and other frontline communities in all UN Global Plastics Treaty (GPT) processes
• Ensure Te Tiriti o Waitangi, He Whakaputanga, all human rights, and Indigenous rights as articulated in UNDRIP are honoured and protected in all GPT processes
• Support the establishment of an independent expert advisory body for the GPT that includes Indigenous rights and knowledge holders, scientists and other experts free of industry conflict of interest
• Advocate for a GPT that centres Indigenous leadership and a full life-cycle approach, including upstream measures such as extraction and production cuts, as essential evidence-based solutions to end plastic pollution
