Welcome to Universal TV Remote ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application.
By downloading, installing, or using Universal TV Remote, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Local Network Access (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE, INTERNET): Our app scans your local Wi-Fi network solely to discover and connect with your Smart TV (such as Samsung, LG webOS, Sony Bravia, Roku, and Android TV).
No Personal Data Sent to Servers: All TV communication, pairing codes, and remote control signals (volume, channel, navigation commands) are processed locally on your local network (LAN). We do not store, intercept, or transfer your remote control activity or TV usage history to any external server.
If your device has an Infrared (IR) blaster, the app uses this hardware solely to emit standard infrared control signals to your TV. No personal or device data is collected through IR transmissions.
Our app utilizes reputable third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device:
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): We display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and use pseudonymous device identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID, IP address, and app usage metrics) to serve relevant and personalized or non-personalized ads.
For more details, review Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob Data Safety Policies.
Permission Purpose INTERNET Required to send Wi-Fi control commands to Smart TVs and fetch remote configurations/ads. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Checks whether the device is connected to Wi-Fi before initiating TV discovery. ACCESS_WIFI_STATE Reads Wi-Fi network state to ensure both phone and TV are on the same local subnet. CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE Required for SSDP / mDNS protocols to automatically discover Smart TVs via radar scan. TRANSMIT_IR (Optional) Allows devices with built-in IR hardware to send infrared remote signals.
Our application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.
The security of your data is important to us. Because we do not store personal data or TV viewing habits on external servers, your usage remains private within your local home environment. For data processed by third-party SDKs (AdMob, Firebase), standard industry encryption (HTTPS/TLS) is utilized.
All product names, logos, brands, trademarks, and registered trademarks (such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Roku, Android TV, YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and others) mentioned in the application are the property of their respective owners. Universal TV Remote is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these brand owners.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. Any modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Privacy Policy.
