Joint Effort for a Class Action Lawsuit Against Public Transportation Companies
Evidence Collection
Evidence Collection
Has your bus skipped your stop despite you signaling to him to stop and there being open seats?
Or was it very late or not come at all?
Do you regularly experience humiliating and belittling treatment from the public transport companies and their drivers?
Have you complained and felt like you’re talking the wall?
Have you given up, like many others, and switched to driving a car but suffer from endless traffic jams and the environment is also being damaged?
We’re bringing a class action lawsuit – send us the documentation of your incident and share the link on our website with as many friends as possible:
https://bit.ly/tviay ( in English: https://bit.ly/tvia-en )
Let us unite to end this abuse!
P.S: Anyone who only has access to email can receive all the information automatically by emailing
Complaints to the transit companies, the ministry of transportation and public figures don’t help at all. This is true also for complaints about minor matters. The only thing, in our opinion, that can bring change now is a class action lawsuit for a large amount which will cause the companies to become aware that the public is organized and will not hesitate to use the power of the community, the infrastructures and channels built as part of the first lawsuit for further lawsuits, as required. That is the goal of the current initiative.
To this end, we ask everyone to publish the link https://bit.ly/tviay ( in English: https://bit.ly/tvia-en ) in all relevant groups, forums, and local newspapers. Send it to all friends, even those who drive’ since they too suffer from traffic jams and polluted air produced as a result of failed public transportation. It is recommended to print this file (or one with the QR) and attach it to a place where many will see it – such as in the windshield of a car or hand it out on buses/bus-stops.
For this we need solid proof and ask anyone who cares about the matter - to equip themselves with cameras and turn them on (inconspicuously) every time the bus approaches the station. It is important to document the fact that you signaled him to stop, the number of the line, the license plate, the name of the company (especially when it is a subcontractor), that there were free seats, the time of the incident, etc. In parallel, it is also important to document from within the bus whether it stopped at the bus-stop, at the same time document that there are still available places, as well as the face of the bus driver at that time and at the time one leaves the bus together with the line number.
A. Please upload your videos/complaints (also ones from the past if they exist) to Google Drive.
B. Click on “Settings” => “Share” => “General access” and change the left setting to “Anyone with the link.”
C. Click on “Copy link” and send us the link with the information described below to tvia.yitsugit@gmail.com
(If you don't know how to do this or you don't have an email at all - a neighbor or friend will probably be able to help here! It's also important to be careful and not delete the documentation from Google Drive until the end of the legal process!)
VERY IMPORTANT:
1. It is obligatory to mention in the subject of any email the name of the company and the type of documentation in the format described below and to add the word “video” to the end if one is attached.
<company name> - Documentation of <type of problem>. [Video.]
For example:
Kavim – Documentation of skipping a station. Video.
Eged – Documentation of lateness.
Metropolin – Documentation of skipped trip.
Extra – Documentation of departure before the schedule time. Video.
Galim – Documentation of an uncomfortable stop. Video.
Tenufah – Passenger load factor documentation. Video
2. Open a complaint with the company and the Ministry of Transportation (attaching the link on the video). This is not because we think this will solve the problem but it is to prove in court that they do not address complaints. It is mandatory to register a complaint number and it is even better to record the conversation and attach it to the email along with the video.
3. It is mandatory that the following information be attached to all documentation (copy/paste):
- First name and last name
- National ID number
- Phone for inquiries
- Place / station ID number (if known)
- Date and time of the event
- Name of the company
- Line number of the bus, origin / destination
- Brief description of the event
Additionally, it is highly recommended to add (copy/paste only what is relevant):
- License plate number of the bus
- Link to documentation / video of the event
- The number of the complaint with the company
- Link to the recording of the opening of the complaint with the company
- Complaint number at the Ministry of Transportation
- Link to the complaint at the Ministry of Transportation
- Links to enlarged images from the video highlighting the facts (such as availability of free places, etc.)
- Additional notes
Due to the volume of responses we must conduct ourselves efficiently and therefore the emails are processed automatically. Because of this, any emails with a subject not in the format described above or that don’t “copy/paste” the template described above will not be processed. See an example below.
If everyone makes an effort and fully documents as described above even just one case they experienced - that will be enough for a solid basis for a class action lawsuit! A one-time investment of 15 minutes can save a lot of time and grief in the future for both you and many other people!
If we win the lawsuit - we will reward the 50 senders of the most complete and high-quality documentation with 1000 NIS.
(It is highly recommended to open the attached links and see/hear how to record!)
