To help you practice a new language naturally and track your 3-week progress, we collect the following types of information:
Account Information: When you sign up, we may collect your name, email address, and profile picture (if provided via Google Sign-In or other registration methods).
Voice and Audio Data: Because TutorMe is a voice-first application, when you use the microphone feature to practice speaking, we temporarily process your voice recordings to convert them to text and generate responses.
Chat History: We store the text transcripts of your conversations with the AI tutor to maintain context and help you track your linguistic improvements.
Device Information: We collect standard device details such as device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and network information to ensure app stability.
Usage Data: We track basic interactions within the app, such as session duration, features used, and crash logs via tools like Firebase Crashlytics.
To provide our core language training services, the app will request the following permissions on your Android device:
Microphone Permission (RECORD_AUDIO): Required to capture your spoken language for voice practice. Audio is only captured when you intentionally activate the voice input feature.
Internet Access (INTERNET): Required to connect with our secure AI cloud servers to process conversations in real-time.
We use the collected data strictly to run and improve your language-learning experience:
To provide real-time voice and text responses from your AI coach.
To personalize conversation topics based on your interests and fluency level.
To monitor app performance, fix bugs, and prevent crashes.
To show your estimated progress and milestones over your 3-week sprint.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or voice recordings to any third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers solely to operate the app:
Cloud & AI Processors: Secure cloud services (such as Google Cloud, OpenAI, or Anthropic) that process text/audio inputs to generate natural conversation flow.
Analytics & Stability Tools: Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to help us understand app performance and eliminate errors.
All third-party partners are strictly bound by confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
Security: We use industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/TLS) to protect your data during transmission and storage.
Retention: We retain your account data and chat history as long as your account is active so you can track your progress. Voice files are typically processed in real-time and are not stored permanently on our servers unless specifically required for personal accent-refinement features you opt into.
You have full control over your data. At any time, you can:
Access, update, or correct your personal profile details inside the app.
Delete Your Account and Data: You can request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data (including chat history and profile details) directly through the App Settings menu, or by emailing us at the support address listed below. Once requested, your data will be permanently purged from our databases within 30 days.
TutorMe is intended for users who want to improve their professional or conversational language skills. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will immediately delete it from our servers.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
