Research

I am a gravitational wave astronomer. Gravitational waves are produced when two black holes circling around each other merge after a long time. I use different data analysis tools to understand what are the masses, spins and redshift distribution of thse black holes. 

Five years back I discovered that universe favours making black holes of certain masses. This is nicely described in an article by American Astronomical Society. I am currently trying to convince astronomers that lighter black holes are produced from the death of stars but the heavier black holes are produced when lighter black holes merge!
