We invite you to join us for our 3rd annual
“Tiller Dancing with the Staff” Showcase!
Dear Tiller Staff Member,
We invite you to join us for our 3rd annual “Tiller Dancing with the Staff” Showcase!
This unique experience puts dance students in the teaching roles as they put together a routine customized just for you! You don’t need any prior dance experience to participate, we’ll teach you all you need to know. This is your moment to be the star of the show and compete to win the TILLER BALL TROPHY!
Stage fright? There are other fun ways to be involved! Come to our Boot Camp for a mini workout and/or attend our Showcase to cheer on your fellow staff members on Friday, February 27th.
HOW IT WORKS:
Fill Out the Google Interest Form before January 13
Please provide your possible rehearsal availability.
Provide any routine or song ideas you have (if you are unsure, we will help you!)
Attend our Info Meeting and Staff Boot Camp
Tuesday, January 13 in the Dance Room
Info Meeting 3:45-4:15 PM
Boot Camp 4:30-5:15 PM (Wear comfortable or athletic clothing and shoes)
If you’re interested in participating but cannot attend, please email Coach K
Your Routine
You can participate as a soloist, duet or small group of staff members.
You can pick your routine song, concept, style OR we can help you! See this list for ideas
Once we’ve confirmed all groups for the showcase, each group will be given 2-3 dance team members who will be your choreographers. The dancers will also perform WITH YOU as “backup dancers” so you’re not on-stage alone.
We have many costumes that can be used, or we will order you a costume at the team’s expense (unless you’d like to keep the costume, then that’s on you)
Rehearsals
Coach K will put together a rehearsal schedule based on what you provide in the Google Interest Form. We recommend a 1-hour first rehearsal, then at LEAST a 30 minute rehearsal once a week with your group. You are welcome to add additional rehearsals at lunchtimes, etc. (Dates will be between Jan 14-Feb 20)
The Show
We will have 3 Judges who will score and give feedback about your routine
The audience will have a chance to help you earn bonus points by purchasing raffle tickets.
The top 3 scorers will be placed in our Instagram story as a “poll”. After 1 minute of voting, whoever earns the most votes will be named the “Tiller Dancing with the Staff” CHAMPION and gets to show-off the trophy for a year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior dance experience? Absolutely not! Your routine will be crafted to your level and whatever you are comfortable with. This is an extremely collaborative process.
I’m not sure what style, song, or concept to do - We have tons of ideas and can help you. Just figure out what music you generally like to listen to. For a concept, what are your interests or hobbies? We can do something to celebrate that.
What if I know exactly what style and song I want to do? Tell Coach K right away to claim it!
I have a busy schedule - We had a couple staff members last year who picked up their kids from school and brought them to rehearsal. We had dancers meet their staffer during lunchtime to help accommodate. We will do whatever we can to make it work with your schedule.
What if I make a mistake in the routine? We will give you all the tips and tricks we use on our team and help you feel as comfortable and as prepared as possible before you hit the stage
Thank you for the support of our program and dance students!
We look forward to seeing you ON STAGE!
Sincerely,
Coach Kierstie and the Tustin Dance Team
