I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur., with specialization in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering.

My research focuses on improving the understanding of fundamental aspects of droughts such as why droughts occur, how they evolve with time and subsequently impact water resources and society. I am also interested in understanding how human water management practices in response to hydro-climatic variability influence the long-term impacts droughts on water resources. The objective of my research is to provide solutions for water resources management, which are based on the improved understanding of interactions between natural and human processes.
