Welcome to Turning Point Church

Our mission statement: “Win the lost at any cost!”

How is that accomplished? Through preaching and teaching the Word of God (Holy Bible), excellence in all we do, and genuine love for one another. Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35 NKJV)

What We Believe:

1. The Bible is God’s Word, the Old Testament and New Testament record is inspired by God

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2Timothy 3:16,17 NKJV).

2. Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin

(Matthew 1:23NKJV) “Behold the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, God with us.” Jesus lived a sinless life, (1Peter 2.22 NKJV) “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”. (1Corinthians 15:3-6 NKJV) “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.”

3. Salvation is found only through a personal faith experience in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16,17 NKJV) “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9,10 NKJV)

4. Repentance (Turning away, leaving behind the way you used to live to follow a new and better way, do a 180 degree turn).

(Isaiah 55:7 NKJV) “Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And he will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon”. (Acts 2:38 NKJV) “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

5. That you receive the Holy Spirit at salvation

(Ephesians 1:13 NKJV) “in Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,” Furthermore, we believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as subsequent to the initial indwelling of the Holy Spirit at salvation.(Acts 1:8, 2:4 NKJV) “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth”. Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”.

6. Ordinances of the Church

(a.) Water Baptism (Acts 16:30-33 NKJV)”, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16 NKJV).

(b.) Communion (1Corinthians 11:24-26 NKJV) “ and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me” “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me”.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes”.

7. The Work of the Church

(Mark 16:15-18 NKJV) “And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover”.

8. The Rapture of the Church

(1Corinthians 15:51,52 NKJV) “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed”. (1Thessalonians 4:16-18 NKJV) “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words”.
