This site as been created as part of a project for a course on Digital Humanities and American Literature at UNITO as part of a MA program on English and American Studies.Â
My goal was to create a pedagogical site aimed at students of American History.
I chose to analyze and annotate Turner's The Significance of the Frontier in American History and Slotkin's Regeneration Through Violence's first chapter.
I chose these two texts for their historical significance and because they both focused on the same topic through different perspectives; Both texts also sparked in me a great deal of interest when studying them for a course on Understanding America in my MA program.
For this project I have used multiple digital tools:
Hypothesis.is for digital annotations.
Voyant Tools for a textual analysis of both texts.
Timeline JS and Storymaps JS to create a more interactive learning experience.
