Looking for a fun and festive Thanksgiving craft? This adorable DIY Turkey made from Tumbling Tower blocks is the perfect project to add a handmade touch to your fall decor! Using just a few simple supplies—plus some high-temp hot glue—you can create a cute little turkey that’s great for centerpieces, mantel displays, or even a kids’ craft activity. Let’s get started and bring this gobbly-good decoration to life!
Instructions
Heat Up Your Glue Gun
Plug in your high-temp hot glue gun. When it’s fully heated, the glue will bond the wood much better and hold firmly.
Create the Base Squares
Take 4 Tumbling Tower blocks and glue them together in a square shape.
Repeat this step so you have 2 squares made from 4 blocks each.
Make Mid-Size Squares
Now take 3 blocks and glue them into a square.
Repeat until you have 3 squares made from 3 blocks each.
Make the Head Square
Take 2 blocks and glue them side-by-side to form 1 small square.
Assemble the Body
Take one of the 4-block squares as your base.
Glue two of the 3-block squares on top of it, stacking them evenly. This forms the body.
Assemble the Head
Take the 2-block square and glue it on top of the remaining 3-block square.
Now glue this head section onto the top of the body you just built.
Paint Your Turkey
Paint the entire turkey brown.
Let it dry completely.
Add the Face & Bowtie
Glue on googly eyes.
Cut a small beak from orange felt and a wobble (wattle) from red felt, and glue them under the eyes.
Tie a small ribbon bowtie and glue it to the “neck” of your turkey.
Attach the Feathers
Fan out some artificial fall leaves and hot glue them to the back of the turkey to look like colorful tail feathers.
And there you have it—your very own Tumbling Tower block turkey, perfectly imperfect and full of fall charm! I love how simple materials can come together to make something so festive and fun. This little turkey is sure to bring some extra smiles to your Thanksgiving table—or at least spark a few “gobble gobble” giggles.
