The vibe, the storytelling and the flow in the song 8 mile is second to none. The beat was so unique and fit the scenario so well as well as the length of it and it never got boring or tedious. It just kept going like a railroad track and never lost my attention only kept getting better. To me it was a musical masterpiece just as much as lose yourself but nobody ever mentions the title track of 8 mile. What do you think?

"Moonlight Mile" is a song recorded by the Rolling Stones. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it appears as the closing track on their 1971 album Sticky Fingers. The song features multiple musicians playing alternate instruments due to the frequent absence of Richards during recording sessions of the period.

The song was written while the Rolling Stones were on their 1970 European tour. Reportedly a rough time for the band, Jagger was particularly affected the most by the alienation and fatigue of touring. The lyrics are elliptical and mysterious, but touch on the alienation of life on the road:

Many consider "Moonlight Mile" one of the Rolling Stones' most under-appreciated ballads.[7] In a review of the song, Bill Janovitz says, "Though the song still referenced drugs and the road life of a pop-music celebrity, it really is a rare example of Jagger letting go of his public persona, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the weariness that accompanies the pressures of keeping up appearances as a sex-drugs-and-rock & roll star."[7]

Classic Rock History critic Matthew Pollard rated it as the Rolling Stones' best deep cut, calling it an "epic in every way imaginable" and saying that "the vibe gives off such a Winter atmosphere" but "once the song accretes towards the climactic ending, it absolutely explodes into something so tearfully optimistic that it sends the body into goosebumps."[11]

"Miracle Mile" is a song by American indie rock band Cold War Kids. The song was written by lead singer Nathan Willett and produced by Lars Stalfors (Matt & Kim) and Dann Gallucci (Modest Mouse). It was the sole single off their fourth album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts (2013) and was released on February 5, 2013.

"Miracle Mile" was given positive reviews from critics who called it a highlight on Dear Miss Lonelyhearts. The song peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. A music video was made for the single and premiered in April 2013.

"Miracle Mile" received a positive reception from music critics. Philip Cosores of Paste called it a "hook-heavy foot stomper."[2] AllMusic's Heather Phares praised the song for being a merger of "both the slickness of Mine Is Yours and the theatrics of Loyalty to Loyalty."[3] Kevin Perry of NME felt the piano sounded exhilarating and liked that the band "stopped trying to do indie rock by numbers and gone back to the sort of idiosyncratic weirdness that made us fall for them in the first place."[4]

Cold War Kids performed "Miracle Mile" and "Loner Phase" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 2, 2013.[6] They performed the song again on the Late Show with David Letterman on July 18, 2013.[7]

Directed by L.A. Confidential's Curtis Hanson, 8 Mile serves as a semi-autobiographical take on Eminem's life as he plays B-Rabbit, a battle rapper who must overcome his on-stage anxiety, a strained relationship with his mother, a crime-ridden neighborhood among other challenges. But as Eminem establishes in "Lose Yourself", B-Rabbit never lets go of "the moment". The protagonist's never-give-up attitude ultimately makes 8 Mile a perfect underdog story. The songs only go on to enhance the wordsmith's early struggles. The original soundtrack, in fact, has become so influential that Eminem even released a deluxe edition in 2022 to celebrate two decades of 8 Mile's release.

While the 8 Mile soundtrack is a hugely popular album, the songs featured on it end up being quite different from the songs heard in the movie. There are a number of songs on the soundtrack that don't appear anywhere in the movie with several of them featuring Eminem's frequent collaborators like 50 Cent with "Wanksta" and "Places to Go," Obie Trice's "Adrenaline Rush," the song "Rap Game" from Eminem's rap group D12, "8 Miles and Runnin'" by Jay-Z, and "Spit Shine" from Xzibit who also appears in the 8 Mile cast. It is also worth noting that 8 Mile rap battles which are among the best moments in the movie and feature some epic freestyle verses are not featured on the soundtrack.

On Sunday, the makers of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani dropped the behind-the-scenes video of the Tum Kya Mile song. It's the first song of the film to release, featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the lead actors. During the making of the song, Alia reveals she shot for the song just after four months of giving birth to her daughter, Raha Kapoor. Tum Kya Mile is sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. Composed by Pritam, the love song is written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Vaibhavi Merchant choreographed the song as it features the chemistry between Alia aka Rani, and Ranveer aka Rocky. The song has them romancing on the snow-capped mountains of Kashmir.

Every week of the football season, we get ourselves geared up, dressed out in our favorite Broncos' clothes, surrounded by our favorite Broncos' memorabilia, ready to yell and scream, rant and rave as we try to will our favorite team on to victory.

But did you know, that the Broncos had (or perhaps still have) a fight song? In 1960, this fight song was featured as a regular part of halftime entertainment in Bears Stadium. The lyrics were printed in the programs available for fifty cents at the stadium on game day.

The fight song was sung as part of the entertainment during halftime. The halftime shows featured a variety of groups keeping the fans amused while the teams regrouped in the locker room. These shows included such groups as: the Sinclair Bronc-ettes (the original Broncos cheerleaders), the Bronco Swing Band, the Bronco Singers, Miss Bronco, and various visiting bands such as the bands from Arvada High School and Lakewood High School.

The Mighty Bronco March was composed by contest winner Frank White of Denver. The lyrics were as follows:

Chorus:

Hail, Mighty Broncos, Pride of the West

Like the mountains tow'ring high, over the rest.

Fight Denver Broncos, Fight for your fame

Fight Broncos, Fight, Fight, Fight, We'll win this game.

Verse:

Yippie, Oh, Ay, Take it boys, go all the way

Yippie, Ay, Oh Watch the Broncos go

Yippie Ay, Yippie Ay, The Broncos win today, HEY!

Back to the chorus now, and all join in!

I was not, unfortunately, able to locate an audio recording of this wonderful song.

What do you think: should we start a movement to resurrect Denver's fight song?

Go Broncos!!!!!

The Pacific Crest Trail in the United States is a very long hike, stretching from close to the Mexican border in Southern California to the Canadian border with the state of Washington. It spans a total distance of 2,650 miles through the states of California, Oregon and Washington, according to Lonely Planet. The trek is especially difficult because of the altitude changes and the resultant changes in weather. It could be 90 degrees one day and freezing on another. While many of us dread a simple 15-minute workout, a 71-year-old has managed to finish the grueling trek. According to Instagram users Auti and Chris (@humping_north), "Pa'at reaching the northern terminus of the Pacific Crest Trail after having walked every single step of the 2,653-mile trail."

Hagan, a three-time NHRA Funny Car world champion, edged out Alexis DeJoria to win the Mile-High Nationals. Sitting inside the Dodge Direct Connection Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car, Hagan earned his second Wally Award at Bandimere Speedway in 4.135 seconds (304.25 miles per hour).

Pro Stock Motorcycle: Gaige Herrera earned his first victory on the mountain, defeating Angie Smith in the final round. Herrera crossed the finish line in 7.103 seconds (187.73 miles per hour).

Pro Stock: Troy Coughlin Jr. defeated Dallas Glenn in a nail-biter. Coughlin claimed the Mile-High Nationals championship in 6.933 seconds (196.64 miles per hour), while Glenn finished second in 6.949 seconds (195.62 miles per hour).

Top Fuel: Clay Millican smoked Doug Kalitta. Millican, the No. 5 qualifier, stood victorious with the Wally Award in hand after placing first in 3.872 seconds at 299.60 miles per hour.

Late in 1963, Joni wrote out a list of 28 songs in her repertoire- of which this was one. All were presumably considered for performing at the 1963 'early' session in Saskatoon (released on Archive Series 1) although this one was not recorded.

The song is generally credited as being written by Hedy West, and a 1961 copyright is held by Atzal Music, Inc. "500 Miles" is West's "most anthologized song." Some recordings have also credited Curly Williams, or John Phillips as co-writers although Phillips admits he had only rearranged it and "didn't deserve the credit". David Neale writes that "500 Miles" may be related to the older folk song "900 Miles", which may itself have origins in the southern American fiddle tunes "Reuben's Train" and "Train 45". Johnny Cash is known to have placed "500 Miles" on his list of 100 essential country songs in the early 1970's.

I completely agree with your interpretation. This is one of those songs that gives you fairly clear and distinct lyrics, which lead down one very specific path. It's about life on the road. "Just another mad mad day on the road....." e24fc04721
