1. About Tulsi Gallery

Tulsi Gallery is a privacy-focused photo gallery application developed and maintained by AKS-Labs. Our app is designed to provide users with a beautiful, feature-rich way to view, organize, and manage photos and videos stored on their device, while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and data protection.

Tulsi Gallery is a fork of the open-source LavenderPhotos project, enhanced with additional features and UI improvements. As developers, we are committed to transparency about how our app functions and how it handles your personal data.

2. User Privacy

Data Collection and Storage

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data off your device.

Tulsi Gallery operates entirely on your device and does not:

• Collect personal information

• Track your usage or behavior

• Use analytics services

• Transmit any data to external servers

• Share information with third parties

Photo and Media Storage

All photos, videos, and other media files accessed by Tulsi Gallery remain stored locally on your device. The app creates and maintains the following local data:

• Thumbnail caches to improve performance

• Album organization information

• User preferences and settings

• Secure folder encryption keys (stored securely on your device only)

This information is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere.

Secure Folder Feature

The Secure Folder feature encrypts selected photos using industry-standard encryption algorithms. The encryption keys are generated on your device and stored securely in your device's protected storage. We do not have access to these keys or the ability to decrypt your secured content.

3. Permissions Required

Tulsi Gallery requires certain permissions to function properly. Here's why each permission is needed:

Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

• Purpose: To access, display, and manage photos and videos stored on your device

• Usage: Reading media files to display them in the gallery, creating/modifying albums, and saving edited photos

• Data handling: All files remain on your device; no data is transmitted elsewhere

Media Access (ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION)

• Purpose: To read and display location information embedded in photos (if available)

• Usage: Showing location data in photo details if the photo contains this information

• Data handling: Location data is only read from the photos themselves and is never transmitted off your device

Biometric Authentication (USE_BIOMETRIC)

• Purpose: To provide secure access to the Secure Folder feature

• Usage: Verifying your identity before granting access to encrypted photos

• Data handling: Biometric data is processed by your device's secure systems; we never access or store this information

Internet Access (INTERNET)

• Purpose: Required only for the Google Lens integration feature

• Usage: When you explicitly choose to use Google Lens on a photo, the app needs to communicate with Google's services

• Data handling: Internet access is used only when explicitly initiated by you for specific features; the app does not use internet access for any other purpose

4. Children's Privacy

Tulsi Gallery is not directed at children under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not contain features specifically designed to attract children.

Since our app does not collect any personal information from any users, including children, we do not engage in practices that would require parental consent under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

If you believe we might have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at akslabs.tech@gmail.com, and we will promptly address the issue.

5. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on our GitHub repository

• Including notices in app updates

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy

We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

6. Compliance with Privacy Laws

Tulsi Gallery is designed to comply with major privacy regulations including:

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

As we do not collect, process, or store any personal data outside your device, most GDPR requirements regarding data processing do not apply. You maintain complete control over all data within the app.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

We do not sell, share, or collect personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Other Regional Privacy Laws

Our no-data-collection approach is designed to respect privacy laws across different jurisdictions.

7. Third-Party Services

Google Lens Integration

When you choose to use the Google Lens feature:

• The selected photo may be shared with Google's services

• This sharing occurs only when you explicitly tap the Google Lens button

• Google's privacy policy applies to any data processed by Google Lens

• We do not receive any data from this interaction

8. Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, many traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) are automatically fulfilled. You have complete control over all data in the app through the app's own interfaces.

You can:

• Delete any photos, videos, or albums using the app's delete function

• Clear thumbnail caches through the app settings

• Remove all app data by uninstalling the app
