Respondus LockDown Browser is an Internet browser that prohibits users from opening other software on their computer, allowing a student to simulate a testing environment at home. Your teacher may require the use of Respondus Lockdown Browser for tests, and may even require that you use a webcam while testing.

To take a test, you will log into Blackboard with a regular browser, select your course, and navigate to the test or quiz.
If LockDown browser has not been previously installed, you will be prompted to download and install it. Otherwise, LockDown Browser will open with the test.

Your professor may allow you to use Respondus LockDown Browser on your Chromebook and iPad.
Chromebook users can install the browser as an extension using the download link above. If your Chromebook is managed by your school, you may need to contact your school's Chromebook administration for permission to install the browser extension. Provide them with the directions to allow the extension.
Once the browser extension is installed, your Chromebook will automatically launch it at the appropriate time.
