Stroke Education Series

Did you know that every month a speaker from The University of Kansas Health System presents at The American Stroke Foundation's (ASF) Speaker Series at the Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center?

The University of Kansas Health Systems has partnered with the American Stroke Foundation (ASF) to help care for stroke survivors in our community following discharge from the hospital. ASF provides a unique, post-rehabilitation experience for stroke survivors. They offer classes and wellness programs designed to address survivors’ physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs in a comfortable, welcoming, non-clinical setting. Caregivers find ASF to be a valuable resource where they can participate in classes and support groups designed to address their specific concerns.

ASF has been open since 1997 and has served over 4,000 stroke survivors and their families since that time, regardless of their ability to pay. TUKHS helps to arrange and present various topics during ASF's Stroke Education Series. Please see below for a list of upcoming speakers during this series. The Stroke Education Series is subject to cancellations and/or rescheduling based on the current COVID-19 guidelines.
