Powering AI is becoming just as important as enabling AI. In next-generation HVDC AI data centers, efficiently converting 800 V to sub-1 V supply required by GPUs is a fundamental challenge. This requires high-voltage power devices capable of fast, reliable hard-switching under >1000 V, as well as low-voltage devices that achieve >1 MHz operation with <1 mΩ on-resistance. By advancing high efficiency, high power density, and highly reliable power devices and circuits, our research aims to enable the next generation of AI power delivery technologies, particularly in the following directions:
Optical control and driving of power devices
Heterogenous integrations at chip and package levels
Reliability investigations under high voltage/current conditions
Enhancing wide-bandgap semiconductors with 2D and nano materials
