Westside Community Church (“Westside”) is a non-denominational church, situated in Woodbrook, a suburb in the North-West region of Trinidad.

As a community church, we believe that we have been called by God to develop Christ-followers who are committed to loving God and loving people, by:

• Worshiping God

• Pursuing relationships with each other

• Responding to the Word

• Serving in Ministry

• Sharing with our World.

History of the Church

Westside Community Church was founded in 1994 as a church plant by a partnership of Trinity Church, Redlands California and the Association of Evangelical Bible Churches (AEBC). TEAM missionaries, Danny and Suzanne Crane along with Dr. Michael Lawrence and his wife, Paula, also missionaries with TEAM and members of Trinity Church, came to Trinidad with the vision to plant a church. With assistance from TEAM and Trinity Church, Westside was formed in the final months of 1994, meeting for Bible studies with fellow expatriates in the Cranes’ home in Westmoorings.

After a year of growth, the decision was taken to move the church to the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce building in Westmoorings with local Trinidadians, expatriates and 'yachties' making up the congregation.

In 1997, World Team and the Evangelical Churches of the West Indies (ECWI) became partners in the developing work. This brought to the ministry LaVern and Marlene Smith, World Team missionaries resident in Trinidad. Along the way, various persons and missionaries came on board to further establish the church’s leadership and ministries, focusing on Worship, Fellowship, Outreach, Service and Maturity. Since 2021, Westside has been an associate member of the AEBC.

From 2003 to 2020, Westside's services were held at the International School of Port of Spain, then remotely/virtually since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic to June 2022. In July 2022, we moved to 45 Ana St., Woodbrook, Port of Spain, hoping to take advantage of a new location that we trust would provide the opportunity to welcome visitors, minister to those in need, and host regular services, all in-person.

Twenty-five years on, Westside has grown into a church catering to the needs of the professional class of the North-Western part of Trinidad, while also welcoming and enjoying members and attendees from different socioeconomic backgrounds.

Location & Demographic

We have welcomed members and attendees from various communities within the Diego Martin area, the suburbs bordering Port of Spain and along the East-West corridor as far as Trincity, and parts of central Trinidad.

Our church sanctuary and office are currently located at 45 Ana St., Woodbrook, Port of Spain.

Worship Service - Sundays | 10:00 a.m.

Corporate Prayer Meeting - Wednesdays | 6:00 p.m.
