Project Description
The project is focused on providing a scientific and research contribution to the sustainable, digital, and green transformation of the textile and fashion industry through the development of innovative solutions in the design, development, and production of high value-added clothing. The project emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach in developing a methodology for the sustainable development of high value-added clothing, integrating digital prototyping, artificial intelligence, biomaterials, and additive technologies, with the aim of enhancing the sustainability, functionality, and aesthetic value of contemporary clothing.
Project Summary
The project encompasses research and development of a digital prototyping methodology using the example of promotional clothing for the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology (SuZG TTF). Research activities include artistically driven design processes supported by artificial intelligence algorithms, functionalization of biomaterials with natural bioactive substances, and the application of advanced methods for evaluating the physical, mechanical, and functional properties of materials. Special emphasis is placed on the integration of additive technologies (3D printing) with biomaterials, aiming to highlight the aesthetic and promotional features of clothing. The development and evaluation of experimental prototypes will enable knowledge transfer, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster connections between the scientific community and industry.
Project Objectives
The main objective of the project is to develop an innovative and sustainable methodology for digital prototyping of high value-added clothing. Specific objectives include:
development of artistically driven design processes based on artificial intelligence
research and functionalization of biomaterials using natural bioactive substances
application and optimization of additive technologies (3D printing) for textile and biomaterials
development and experimental evaluation of promotional clothing prototypes
strengthening scientific publishing and international visibility of SuZG TTF
improvement of study programs, development of lifelong learning programs, and strengthening the scientific and teaching competencies of research team members
The project directly contributes to achieving several objectives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan in the area of a resilient, green, and digital economy
