On May 1, 2025, we are pleased to announce the opening of the “Jisshi Square Tsutaju Gallery” in the Koyukai Room on the 2nd floor of the Jisshi Square Main Building. This gallery is part of the “Tsutaju Nihonbashi Project,” a project initiated by the local neighborhood association with volunteers on the occasion of the NHK historical drama “Berabo: Tsutaju Eiga No Yume Banashi” (Tsutajū – A Dream Tale of Glory). The exhibition is composed mainly of handmade works created by volunteer local residents who read various historical documents and pooled their wisdom in an effort to discover the multi-talented nature of Tsutaju.
Admission is free, and there are no restrictions on photography. There is also a reprint of the original yellow cover you can hold in your hands for a closer look and replica edition of ukiyoe artworks are also exhibited. Please feel Tsutaju's footprints in this gallery. We also hope that you will visit the gallery and experience the “now” of Nihonbashi, where Tsutaju lived.
