Great Friends, Good Laughs, Best Times
TSTA stands for the Texas State Teachers Association. We are part of the Aspring Educator program. We are a university chapter organization that is geared towards providing professional development for future educators.
TSTA has events on and off campus giving our members opportunities to get involved on campus and within our community. This past year we have traveled to Austin for TSTA-SP State Convention, we are also volunteered and participated in the TSTA House of Delegates Convention in Houston, and some of our members were able to go to Boston and participate in the National Education Association Convention and volunteer in the Legacy Project. We also have fun social events planned like a Joint TSTA BBQ event and UHCL's annual Chili-Cook Off! This upcoming year we have community outreach projects planned.
TSTA holds meetings every other week (TBD on time and location). At meetings, we provide a guest speaker which allows our members to receive one hour of professional development per guest speaker. Education candidates at UHCL are required to have professional development hours as a part of Internship I/II, and TSTA provides it for you for free!
To join, annual dues are $30 (September 1- August 31).
Print out the confirmation and bring to meetings or email TSTA (tsta.uhcl@gmail.com).
