Removing the Coal, Producing the Diamond
The Scholars Etiquette and Self-Image Institute is an 8-month course, providing opportunities for young ladies between the ages of 13 to 19 receive mentorship in the areas of self-awareness, career and education, community outreach, and literacy.
We are a domestic non-profit organization that encourages development in young ladies from the Flint/Genesee County area, ages 13-19. Young ladies joining TSESII will be given opportunities to learn self-worth, proper body image and social etiquette with a focal point on, encouraging the scholars to dream, pursue, and maintain growth, in their lives.
All of this is achieved by focusing on 4 domains that include 27 elements with lesson plans and activities. Domains include, Self-Awareness, Social Etiquette, Education and Career, and Community Service. Sessions are held for eight-months and are culminated with a formal wear attire Graduation Ceremony. As our community continues to rebuild in the wake of economic struggles, we stand firm on the notion that “we can inspire together”!
I’d like to share a little information about myself. My name is Tanisha Jones and I am the founder and President of the T.S.E.S.I. Institute. I am a wife and mother of three beautiful scholars and I hold a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, with a minor in Community Development. I’ve enjoyed a career in the Human Service Field that spans over 15 years. T.S.E.S.I. Institute offers the tools necessary that can truly inspire and elevate the morale of OUR scholars. The name itself says each young lady is a scholar, even if they haven’t realized it yet. If we love and inspire these young scholars, we will have done our job. Our legacy lives through them.
