Hello! Welcome to my homepage. I am currently a Visiting Lecturer of Economics at Wellesley College, Massachusetts, United States. In Fall 2024, I will also be teaching Development Policy at Boston University. Prior to my current position, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Northeastern University (2022-2024) and a Senior Researcher at the Policy Studies Institute in Ethiopia.

My primary research focuses on development economics, labor economics, and political economy. I am passionate about exploring the economic factors that drive societal progress and developing policies that can enhance economic development and improve labor markets for gainful employment.  

I earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sussex (United Kingdom), an MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), and a BA in Economics from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia).

My Full name is Tsegay Gebrekidan Tekleselassie (Geʽez/Amharic/Tigrigna ፀጋይ ገብረኪዳን ተክለስላሴ). For ease of pronunciation, you can call me "t'se-guy" or simply "Se-guy".  As an avid runner I have completed a few marathons notably Berlin, Chicago, and New York City! I completed the 2023 Chicago Marathon in 2:59:16
