The thermal and fluid engineering group, consisting of more than 20 experienced faculties not only peruse research in conventional research fields encompassing thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, multiphase flows, turbulence, and combustion, but also actively pursues an extensive spectrum of research endeavors. These include acttive and passive cooling technique-based battery thermal management systems, experimental fluid dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, exploration of porous media flow, turbomachinery studies, analysis of internal combustion engines, examination of alternative fuels, utilization of laser diagnostic techniques, research in micro-fluidics and heat transfer, studies on boiling heat transfer and condensation, exploration of heat pipes and thermal management techniques, investigations into spray dynamics, turbulent combustion analysis, exploration of hydrodynamic instabilities, investigations into vortex dynamics and gravity currents, exploration of energy storage materials, and atomic-scale computations, radiation therapy and bio-heat transfer etc.
