Q : What are the differences between Age Division and Grade Division?

A : Age Division is divided into 6 categories based on ages ranging from 3 to 27 years and will be competed
in 3 rounds: First Round (online), Semi-final Round and Final Round.
Grade Division is divided into 8 categories based on Grades 1 through 8, regardless of the participants' age
and held in one round competition (online).

Q : What will participants get from participating in the Grade Division exclusively?

A : They're going to get a certificate of participation and a medal identification certificate.

Q : What will participants get from participating in the First Round exclusively?

A : They're going to get a certificate of participation and a medal identification certificate.

Q : What are the medal identification (certificate) in the First Round and Semi-final Round?

A : Gold, Silver, Bronze, Special Prize based on their performance score.

Q : Is it possible to participate only in the First Round?

A : Yes, you can participate only in the First Round by filling out the same application as everyone.
If you advance to the next round, you can choose not to advance to the Semi-final.

Q : Are there any mandatory pieces for each category? 

A : No, there are not. The only thing you have to comply with is the maximum time limit of your performance.
The participant can check the rules and regulations for more information.

Q : Can I play multiple pieces in one round?

A : Yes, if overall performance doesn't exceed the time limit.

Q : Can I use the same piece in every round?

A : Yes.

Q : What will happen if my performance exceeds the time limit in the Semi-final or Final Round?

A : You will be stopped mid-performance but your score will not be deducted.

Q : Instead of an actual pianist/accompanist, can I use a sound recording or backing track?

A : Yes, but only in the First Round. You're not allowed to use any sound recording or backing track in the Semi-final
or the Final Round. The only exception is when you play unaccompanied solo pieces. Then you can perform
without a pianist or an accompanist.

Q : If there is more than one winner in the Final Round of any category, how will the prize money be divided

A : We divide the cash prize equally amongst the prize winners of each category.

Q : I won a prize from the previous years. Can I still participate this year?

A : Yes, you can. Only the first prize winner will be required to advance to the next age category.
