In 2022, we introduced the concept of mentor teams to enhance the support and resources available to both mentors and mentees. Each mentor team comprises 2-3 senior mentors, 2-3 near-peer mentors, and 3 ambassadors. Each role within the team serves a distinct purpose.

The near-peer mentors successfully completed phase 1 (Ambassador phase) of the program. Before the start of the program, all of the mentees complete our near-peer mentor training. As a near-peer mentor, the student will help lead aspects of the weekly session. Moreover, under the guidance of a senior mentor, the near-peer will provide mentorship to 1-2 Teen Science Ambassadors.
In, 2022 we had 12 students serve as our ambassadors. During orientation day, all ambassadors completed mentee training to provide guidance on how to prepare for when they met their senior mentor and near-peer mentor.
