Trézor® Bridge was a background software component designed to help a Trezor hardware wallet communicate with Trezor Suite and compatible web browsers. It acted as a connection layer between the physical device and supported software.
However, Trezor has deprecated and removed support for the standalone Trezor Bridge. Trezor recommends uninstalling older standalone Bridge installations because they may interfere with newer versions of Trezor Suite.
Start by downloading Trezor Suite from the official Trezor website.
Choose the version appropriate for your operating system.
Install the latest available release.
Avoid unofficial download websites.
Verify the software when recommended by Trezor.
Trezor officially provides Suite for Windows, macOS, and Linux, while mobile users can access supported mobile applications.
After installing Suite:
Connect your Trezor using a suitable USB data cable.
Open Trezor Suite.
Unlock your hardware wallet when prompted.
Follow the instructions displayed by Suite.
Confirm connection on the device when required.
If Suite cannot detect the device, Trezor recommends checking the USB cable, trying another USB port, restarting the computer, and checking for software or security settings that could interfere with communication.
If you previously installed standalone Trezor Bridge, Trezor recommends removing it.
Windows: Locate the Bridge installation and use its uninstall program.
macOS: Remove it using the provided uninstall package.
Linux: Follow Trezor's official removal instructions.
Keeping outdated Bridge software may cause compatibility problems with newer Trezor Suite releases.
If your Trezor is not recognized:
Try a different USB data cable.
Connect directly rather than through a USB hub.
Restart Trezor Suite.
Restart your computer.
Check that device firmware is supported.
Temporarily check VPN, firewall, or antivirus settings.
Make sure only one application is communicating with the Trezor at a time.
Trezor's support documentation specifically recommends checking the cable and other connection factors when Suite cannot see the device.
Download Trezor Suite only from official sources.
Never enter your wallet backup into a website.
Never share your recovery words with anyone.
Do not install software from advertisements or unknown websites.
Keep Trezor Suite and device firmware current.
Use Trezor's official troubleshooting resources for connection problems.
Although Trézor® Bridge was once an important connection component, the standalone version is now deprecated. For the best compatibility, users should follow Trezor's current Suite and connectivity instructions rather than relying on outdated Bridge software.
