As AI technology advances, its role in healthcare decision-making becomes increasingly prominent, necessitating a focus on trustworthiness and collaboration. This workshop on AI and Healthcare is dedicated to building community and exploring new partnerships and project opportunities in this important area. First, we will introduce the TAME Pain case study, showcasing how AI-driven solutions can improve pain management through successful collaborations in the UK and the US.We will highlight both the challenges faced and the impactful results achieved. Then, we will introduce the HEAD collaboration and its mission to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation in AI and healthcare.
In today's world, technology plays a pivotal role in shaping healthcare accessibility. The Health Equity in AI Decision (HEAD) aims to transform our approach to public health and healthcare technology access disparities. By focusing primarily on the United States and the United Kingdom, HEAD is committed to identifying and addressing the root causes of these disparities through a collaborative research initiative. We aim to create a community and establish a new benchmark for analyzing and transforming healthcare technology and public health worldwide.
HEAD's mission is to form an international consortium at the nexus of AI, healthcare, and ethics, fostering a collaborative environment to address these critical challenges. The primary objective is to drive public health and healthcare technology advancements by creating and growing our HEAD community and developing targeted research programs. We aim to empower policymakers, healthcare professionals, and social justice advocates to pinpoint and tackle disparities, informed by ethically driven technologies, across different populations and locations. Ultimately, our vision is to reshape policy and infrastructure to make technology-driven healthcare universally accessible and equitable.
