Our fabulous chairperson, and founding member of Trumpington Tigers
I joined the club in 2016 after being convinced by our lovely Carolyn and Shirley during a parents evening while waiting our turns to meet the subject teachers at our daughters’ college.
I must say, It didn’t take much of convincing as I have always had a dream to play netball when I was at school. Once I got my trainers on and hit the courts, I’ve never looked back. I love being part of the team and enjoy netball more than I ever did before. I last played in primary school 25 yrs ago however I was never good enough to to be considered to be on a school team.
I enjoy playing and look forward to every session of practice and games we take part in. In the last few years I feel I have grown more Confident being in GA position.
Some of my proud moments; Summer league 2019 was amazing, I miss the after games pub late dinners and lift shares and mini tournaments 🐯🏀
When I saw a message on Facebook that there is a friendly supportive group of women who play netball in Trumpington, I was immediately interested. I thought I would give it a go, despite being an absolute beginner at an advanced age. I felt welcome from day one. The training is super fun and does wonders for my stamina.
I moved to Trumpington in 2019 and was so pleased to discover a really friendly local netball team to help me meet people in the area and keep fit at the same time. I played netball from Primary school to university, but never found a team that could fit alongside work and other social commitments afterwards. Trumpington tigers made me feel totally welcome and had no expectation that I would make 100% of trainings and matches - a perfect fit for me and helped me get back on court, I’ve enjoyed it ever since.
