Top 50 Republican Narratives in the U.S. Congressional Record (1994-2015)

Note: This figure presents the 50 most salient Republican narratives in the U.S. Congressional Record as measured by a log-odds ratio (i.e., whether a narrative is more pronounced by Democrats relative to Republicans). We represent our narrative tuples in a directed multigraph, in which the nodes are entities and the edges are verbs. The network is pruned so as to plot the largest connected subgraph (for this reason, the graph may display less than 50 narratives). The size of the edges is determined by the log odds ratio. The size of nodes is determined by their degree in the network.
