An interactive story Written by True Avery
Like many people in life, I’m on a journey trying to figure out where I’m going.
Some days I move full speed ahead with what feels like a clear sense of direction.
Other days I sit still.
Not because I’ve given up but because I’ve grown tired of running with complete confidence, only to realize I was running in the wrong direction.
One thing is certain:
My goal isn’t simply to become successful.
It’s to become the best version of myself along the way.
Like anyone else, I have dreams.
I have goals.
I have plans for the future.
But if none of those things ever happen the way I imagine them…
I hope that, at the end of my life, I can honestly say I became a man I’m proud of.
That journey is what this website is about.
This is the point where I’m supposed to tell you what I do.
The service you can hire me for.
The show you can book me for.
The business I built.
The organization I represent.
But before all of that…
I’m a person.
And every person has a story.
Lately, I’ve felt compelled to tell mine.
Not because I believe it’s more important than yours.
But because I’ve learned that the work I do only makes sense when you understand the life that shaped it.
I didn’t start out trying to tell my own story.
To be honest…
I’m still not even sure where it begins.
I think I started by wanting to tell everyone else’s.
I wanted to make movies.
I wanted to capture moments.
I wanted to understand people.
Then life kept changing my role.
Poet.
Builder.
Father.
Consultant.
Community organizer.
Business owner.
Each season added another title.
Each chapter taught me something different.
Eventually I realized…
None of those titles explained who I was.
They only described what I happened to be doing at the time.
For most of my adult life, people have known me as True Avery.
If you asked ten people from the last ten years to describe me, you might hear ten different versions of who I am.
This is where you get to hear the story directly from me.
Not the finished version.
The version that’s still being written.
So where do we begin?
Honestly…
I don’t know if stories begin at the beginning.
Sometimes they begin at the moment everything finally starts making sense.
For me, that moment is this journey.
The Certified Nomad Tour.
Some people hear the word nomad and imagine freedom.
Adventure.
Movement.
For me, it’s been all of those things.
It’s also been uncertainty.
Questions.
Growth.
Loss.
Healing.
And the search for home in every sense of the word.
This tour is helping me connect the pieces of a life that, for a long time, felt disconnected.
Maybe, somewhere along the way, you’ll recognize pieces of your own story in mine.
So…
Welcome.
Read a chapter.
Watch a film.
Come to a show.
Support a project.
Or simply check back from time to time and walk alongside me as the story continues.
Because this isn’t the story of a man who’s figured everything out.
It’s the story of someone who’s still becoming.
