If you want a lighting system with the highest raw lumen output and a specific adapter for newer Special models, choose TRUCKMALL 7; if you need a versatile kit that emphasizes a direct factory-mount replacement design for a broad range of Harley-Davidson touring bikes, choose SLK 7.
• TRUCKMALL 7: Delivers superior brightness with 4000 lumens on high beam but requires specific adapters for certain 2014–2022 Special models to fit correctly. Best for riders who prioritize maximum visibility and don't mind navigating a few extra wiring steps.
• SLK 7: Features a robust aluminum alloy construction with a straightforward direct-replacement mounting approach, though its specific lumen output isn't explicitly detailed in the specs compared to the competitor. Best for truck owners and motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a clean, chrome-finished upgrade that fits standard mounting locations easily.
• The Verdict: Both kits include 4.5-inch passing lights and chrome housings, but your choice hinges on whether you value peak light intensity (TRUCKMALL) or simplified installation mechanics (SLK).
The TRUCKMALL 7 Inch LED Headlight is engineered for the rider who treats night riding as a critical safety component rather than just a convenience. The standout feature here is the sheer power of the illumination. With a specification of 4000 lumens on the high beam and 2800 lumens on the low beam, this unit promises to cut through darkness significantly better than standard halogen bulbs. The 6000K color temperature produces a crisp, white light that is much more noticeable on the road than the older yellow spectrum, offering wider and farther visibility. If you frequently ride on unlit rural roads or highways where seeing far ahead is non-negotiable, this high-output spec sheet is exactly what you are looking for.
However, this performance comes with specific installation nuances that define who should buy it. Riders with 2014 to 2022 Street Glide Special or Road King Special models will need to utilize the included H4 to H9 wire adapter to make it work. Similarly, other models like the Electra Glide and Ultra Limited require the included bracket to secure the unit firmly. If you own one of these specific variants, you must be prepared to follow those instructions carefully. Conversely, if you have a simpler setup from the 1989–2022 range that doesn't require the special adapter, the process is likely seamless.
This product is also built for durability in harsh environments. The housing is made of solid die-cast aluminum, which provides a sturdy base against minor scuffs and vibrations common on touring bikes. The lens is designed to be anti-crash, and the entire assembly is completely sealed to prevent water ingress. This means you can ride through rain or wash your bike without worrying about moisture ruining the bulb. For truck owners and motorcyclists who prioritize longevity and maximum light output over absolute simplicity, the TRUCKMALL 7 stands out as a serious upgrade tool. You should skip this if you are looking for a plug-and-play experience without reading the fine print regarding adapters, as the "Special" models specifically need that extra step.

The SLK 7 Inch LED Headlight Kit positions itself as a comprehensive solution for Harley-Davidson owners who want a direct swap without major modifications. The design philosophy here centers on ease of integration. The package includes a headlight mounting ring, a wiring harness, and six connectors, all intended to utilize the factory mounting locations. This "Direct Replacement Design" suggests that for many users, the physical installation should mirror the original equipment removal and re-installation process. The housing features a polished chrome finish paired with polycarbonate lenses, maintaining the classic aesthetic while modernizing the internal lighting technology. For riders who value the look of their machine as much as the function, the chrome housing ensures the upgrade blends seamlessly with the existing style of the bike.
The versatility of the SLK 7 is another key factor for potential buyers. It is listed as compatible with a wide array of Harley-Davidson models, including Touring, Road King, Street Glide, Electra Glide, Heritage Softail, Fat Boy, Softail Slim, Softail Deluxe, Switchback, Ultra Limited, Tri Glide, and CVO. The manufacturer notes that some models may require the included adapter or additional vehicle-specific modifications, so verifying fitment is crucial before purchase. Unlike the TRUCKMALL, which highlights specific lumen counts, the SLK focuses on the structural integrity of its build, citing aluminum alloy construction designed for 12V-24V DC electrical systems. This dual-voltage capability adds a layer of robustness, ensuring the kit functions reliably across different electrical setups found on various touring platforms.
Who should buy the SLK 7? It is ideal for the rider who wants a complete kit that looks premium and fits directly into the factory holes without needing to fabricate custom mounts. The inclusion of two 4.5-inch LED passing lights alongside the main 7-inch headlight makes it a full-system upgrade. The DOT approval mentioned in the specifications is a significant plus for legal compliance on public roads. However, because the specific lumen output isn't explicitly quantified in the provided data sheet like the TRUCKMALL, it might not appeal to those who strictly compare raw brightness numbers. Instead, it appeals to those who trust the engineering of a direct-replacement design and want a reliable, chrome-finished upgrade that enhances visibility without altering the bike's silhouette. If you are a truck owner upgrading a motorcycle attachment or simply want a hassle-free visual and functional upgrade, this kit offers a balanced approach.
• Best for Raw Brightness → TRUCKMALL 7: With 4000 lumens on high beam, this is the clear winner if your primary goal is cutting through total darkness.
• Best for Direct Factory Fit → SLK 7: Its design emphasizes using factory mounting locations, making it slightly more attractive for those avoiding complex bracket adjustments.
• Best for Specific Model Compatibility → TRUCKMALL 7: Explicitly calls out the need for an H4 to H9 adapter for 2014–2022 Special models, showing attention to niche fitment details.
• Best for Electrical Versatility → SLK 7: Rated for 12V-24V DC systems, offering broader electrical compatibility across different voltage requirements.
• Best for Durability Against Scuffs → TRUCKMALL 7: Features a solid die-cast aluminum base and an anti-crash lens specifically highlighted for protection.
• Best for Aesthetic Finish → SLK 7: Promotes a polished chrome housing with polycarbonate lenses that emphasize a classic, high-quality look.
• Best for Complete Kit Contents → Tie: Both include the 7-inch headlight, two 4.5-inch passing/fog lights, wiring harnesses, and necessary connectors.
• Best for Water Resistance → Tie: Both units are described as completely sealed designs to prevent water damage.
After weighing the specifications, I would personally choose the TRUCKMALL 7 for my own motorcycle. The explicit mention of 4000 lumens gives me confidence that the investment translates directly to safety and visibility, which is the whole point of an LED upgrade. While the SLK 7 offers a solid direct-replacement design, the TRUCKMALL's focus on high-output lighting and its detailed breakdown of adapter requirements for specific models shows a deeper commitment to solving the actual problem of poor night visibility. For truck owners looking to enhance their ride's safety profile, getting the brightest possible light source is usually the priority, and the TRUCKMALL delivers that on paper.
